I think a big problem on Twitter can be summed up simply: People are motivated not by objectivity, but by partisanship.

@LakelandPD Your officers make fun of people for not having a home. They should be ashamed at themselves. The civil rights lawsuit will be legendary.

June will be here before we know it.   Trash from those living in single-family, two-family or apartment buildings with up to nine units MUST be in an official NYC Bin by June. Get info on bins at bins.nyc.

@NYCSanitation You're going to need to pick up compost twice a week. Once a week during the summer is disgusting. No one wants food rotting and liquefying in their bins for up to 6 days.

@NYCSanitation Somebody is getting rich off of this whole "official city bin" business. Give me one, good reason why bags of trash containing no food need to be in a bin? The city doesn't even have trucks with rails to lift these bins up at this point.

6:30pm: No changes to forecast models, which continue to suggest several hours of heavy snow bands surging towards NYC tonight into Monday as our storm rapidly strengthens. Just incredible imagery here. Follow along live: patreon.com/posts/blizzard…

Collection update: Trash & compost collection IS on schedule. For example, if you have Tuesday collection, your trash or compost will be picked up today, but may not be picked up at your usual time. Same for Wednesday, and so on. Recycling is delayed about 24 hours. Continue to follow your regular setout schedule. You will not receive a summons for having material out.

Sunday snow ops update While Mother Nature is doing her best to keep the snow around, New York’s Strongest REMAIN on the case and dedicated to snow clearing.  We continue to work clearing snow from public areas such as crosswalks, curbs, ramps and corners.  Snow melters are continuing to work, turning many tons of snow to water, and helping to clear our streets even further.  Curbside collection continues, as we prioritize trash & compost. If you can, please hold your paper & metal/glass/plastic/carton recycling. Collection will be delayed during ongoing snow operations but know we are working on it. Stay warm, NYC.

Since the hype and clickbait is out of control today, here’s the deal: - There will be a strong coastal storm that forms and moves offshore this weekend - It will not affect NYC with any snow or precipitation - It will be dangerously cold from tonight through Sunday

Friday Snow Ops Update We continue to work clearing snow from public areas such as crosswalks, curbs, ramps and corners; Emergency Snow Shovelers will be working through the weekend, too. Collection continues, and we are prioritizing trash and compost. If possible, please hold your paper and metal/glass/plastic/carton recycling. Collection will be delayed during ongoing snow operations. Snow melters are continuing to work, and so far, we have melted more than 40 million pounds of snow across our eight snow-melting locations. AND! Just in case the storm changes track, we are keeping an eye out on the weather this weekend.

Tuesday Morning Ops Update: If you must drive today, please be careful! If you shovel your car out, do not throw the snow back in to the street. Property owners MUST shovel their sidewalks. Snow may go at the building line or curb line – NOT IN THE STREET. We are issuing violations for those who fail to clear their sidewalks. If you want to report snow or ice on a sidewalk, please contact 311. Limited collection has begun. While it's ok to put your trash, compost and recycling at the curb following your normal schedule, understand collection will be delayed during simultaneous ongoing snow operations. We continue to work clearing snow from public areas that include bus stops, crosswalks and corners, and Emergency Snow Shovelers are working today. Learn how to become one at nyc.gov/snow. Our snow fighting vehicles are continuing to work on city streets, keeping roadways accessible in freezing conditions. Stay warm, NYC.

@NYCSanitation Ok but can we stop plowing over freshly dug-out curb cuts? Your own plows are making it impossible for pedestrians to go anywhere. If i were in a wheelchair, I'd be screwed. This is an ADA nightmare.

@NYCSanitation At a certain point you need to actually REMOVE the snow. In other words, haul it away somewhere. This snow is not going to melt at all for snother 2 weeks and we may get more on Sunday. There's nowhere to put the damn snow.

Monday Evening Ops Update: Property owners MUST shovel their sidewalks. Snow may go at the building line or curbline – NOT IN THE STREET. Putting snow in the street impedes snow clearing operations. We are issuing violations for those who fail to clear their sidewalks. If you want to report snow or ice on a sidewalk, please contact 311. While it's ok to put your trash, compost and recycling at the curb following your normal schedule, snow operations take priority now. Collection will be delayed during snow operations. We will get back to collection as soon as snow operations allow. Emergency Snow Shovelers will be working tomorrow, Tuesday, to help clear snow from public areas like bus stops, crosswalks and fire hydrants, and step streets. Find out how to become one at nyc.gov/snow. Our salt spreaders and plows are continuing to service city streets, working to keep roadway accessible in freezing conditions.

@Bogs4NY How about the gigantic snow berms on every corner that the City's OWN plows create? If I were a New Yorker in a wheelchair, I'd be absolutely screwed right now. There's no way to navigate these corners

We cannot let this president drag us into more endless wars that risk the lives of American service members and civilians abroad. The attack last night on Venezuela was unnecessary and unauthorized. The President’s actions are reckless and illegal. Congressional leaders must immediately act to prevent further destabilization to the region and prevent this spiraling into another war.

It’s not about drugs. If it was, Trump wouldn’t have pardoned one of the largest narco traffickers in the world last month. It’s about oil and regime change. And they need a trial now to pretend that it isn’t. Especially to distract from Epstein + skyrocketing healthcare costs.
