@DeSade714 @Kennedy8_7 Reverse mortgage on the $2M house they bought for $5 in 1975 and then finance the rest on a 10 year 15% auto loan with their pension and Social Security

@BroscienceMD @Kennedy8_7 Most boomer parents can't afford these things. 2-3 million.

Mistral AI quietly launched the world's best robotic navigation model.
Europe's strength in AI might not currently be frontier LLMs, but instead physical implementation of AI, which might become just as important with robotics becoming more important day by day.

Introducing @MistralAI Robostral Navigate Our first model built for embodied navigation. It's an 8B model that takes RGB images and a plain-language instruction and moves a robot through an environment

@BarbellFi Roths are income limited besides the backdoor option. The balances are going to skew lower

@petergostev We need an inference Gini Coefficient. Most people have no clue what’s even out there if they don’t explicitly seek out the news
English

We are now in a position where a tiny proportion of the population uses Fable or soon GPT-5.6, while everyone else's experience of AI is 8-30b-model level - Google's AI Overviews, Meta AI, ChatGPT free tier, maybe MS Copilot at best. People outside of tech must be completely baffled how this is supposed to take their job, and annoyed that hundreds of billions are being poured into it.

@RobertPrechter Revenue in the index components is more recurring and service based rather than job based tangible product delivery. I’d like to see what P/S looks like broken out by sector, I guarantee you the difference won’t be nearly as striking

This chart, published in Grant's Interest Rate Observer, shows that investors in the summer of 2026 are paying 3.6 times sales for stocks in the S&P Composite index.
That's nine times the multiple of 0.4 that they were paying in the summer of 1982. There is no economic reason why people should value sales so differently.
But there is a socionomic reason: Waves of social mood, governing fluctuations in optimism and pessimism, account for such changes.
The current overvaluation of corporate shares is not just extreme; it's epic.

@alephneuro If the brain can be mapped then it can be copied to a machine. Soon we’ll be free of these meatbag vessels we’ve all been riding around in

@bronzebust you gotta be the finance on film fratty gym bro on ice or else you’re ngmi
English

Good advice for men in their early twenties: Avoid becoming one "type of guy".
Dont become the finance bro, dont become the film camera guy, dont become the frat guy, dont become the gym bro, etc.
Do what those guys do: Make great money, have a big social circle, get jacked, etc., but never let your identity revolve around any one thing.
Rise above social categories, cross-pollinate, never get boxed in. You can be the fittest guy in the office, the most well-traveled guy in the gym, the smartest dude at the bar, and so on; it's all possible.

@justalexoki The revulsion is because your memory of the before image scrambles your brain. If you banish the before images from your psyche and look at them as two different people the new nose looks much better

@gonglei89 If you think about this like a business’s Debt to Sales, 3.63x isn’t really that bad since the US national economy is probably the most reliable business in human history. Peers at that D/S level would be $JPM and $HOOD
English

Actually the US’s total debt to GDP is 363% (115.555/31.819)

James A. Lewis@james_a_lewis
China's debt is 287% of GDP is big, but the US isn't much better off at 257%. France is 319%

@Bunagayafrost You just appeared on my TL today, probably bc I've been reading the news coming out of the Frontier Labs. Couldn't agree more, maybe besides the stockpiling part. Singularity is coming and the inevitable future doesn't care if you're scared or angry. You might as well embrace it
English

How to prepare for the Singularity
1) Find a reasonable belief why superintelligent AI won't exterminate us (If you can't become a doomer).
2) Position yourself in a safe environment for the chaotic transition period.
3) Live a healthy life. Healthy body, healthy mind.
4) Build trusted network of people you can rely on and vice versa.
5) Stockpile necessary goods for extended period of time (3 months to a year). Peace of mind.
6) Write prayers (blueprint) for your ideal future online for the superintelligent AI to read.
The goal is to fight anxiety. Think clearly. Avoid people who can't as they will be your main threat. Advocate for the future you can believe in. Take care of your loved ones and don't be consumed by fear.
