@marclaitin @TalibVisram @FastCompany @ideas42 Also, @marclaitin is being typically humble here. I have watched him build an amazing program from scratch over the last couple of years, and while he is rightly focusing entirely on the amazing entrepreneurs and their projects, none of this would have happened without him.

@marclaitin @TalibVisram @FastCompany This is an inspiring group of entrepreneurs who are working on projects designed to solve longstanding problems for those who need help the most. I can’t encourage you strongly enough to learn more about them and the @ideas42 Venture Studio.

Side benefit: it doesn’t cost cash strapped governments much and the quality will likely be higher than something developed commercially in a closed, proprietary manner.

Then, not only can people adopt the use of the app with a detailed understanding of what data is collected and how their data is used, but governments can promote it without fear of backlash around privacy issues since everything is in the open.

Good piece on contact tracing apps from @StevenOverly. One point I made which wasn’t in the piece is that in the context of a single app, it should be done by the community as an open source project. politico.com/news/2020/06/1…

Today is @jakebrewer’s birthday. He would have been 39. I choose to honor his memory in death as I believe he would have encouraged me to live had he not left us far, far too early: @CultivateKarass, be an active American, & be a good dad.

3/ Since I left HHS I’ve stayed involved in organ donation reform to help correct misinformation campaigns from OPOs who have avoided scrutiny for too long. Facts matter, and @HHSgov can fix this Bit.ly/38u6xvp

2/ Organ donation is run by gov monopoly contractors called organ procurement organizations (OPOs) which have a history of fraud, waste and abuse. Some of the most obstructionist stakeholders I’ve ever come across. When OPOs fail, patients die. bit.ly/2EbI1kS

1/ Great to see @ASlavitt and @adam_brandon shine a light on the need for organ donation reform in this bipartisan op-ed. Holding gov contractors accountable can save 28,000 more lives every year and billions of dollars for taxpayers. bit.ly/2PcinCz

Watch this powerful @nytimes op-ed video and then sign the petition to reform the US organ donation system and save thousands of lives: nytimes.com/2019/06/11/opi… For a short bit of wonky detail, read my medium post on the subject: @bryansivak/hhs-can-fix-organ-donation-and-save-thousands-of-lives-and-billions-of-dollars-a37fce994279" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@bryansivak/hh…

Six years ago, @ORGAN_IZE opened my eyes to the deep but fixable problems with our organ donation system. Today, someone finally spoke on the record: nytimes.com/2019/06/11/opi… For a bit more info: @bryansivak/hhs-can-fix-organ-donation-and-save-thousands-of-lives-and-billions-of-dollars-a37fce994279" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@bryansivak/hh… @SeemaCMS , @SecAzar - you can bring this home. It’s time.
