🚨New @scope Research Disabled households need an extra £1,010 each month just to have the same standard of living as non-disabled households. Life costs more if you're Disabled, and how we are treated in society forces us into poverty - it's not a given, but a political choice.

I got called a p*ki by a patient in the pharmacy who told me she didn’t want me to serve her since I didn’t respond to her question asking what religion I am. Nothing life-threatening, so yes I turned her away. We should not be expected to tolerate racial abuse. End of.

Let’s not be classist/ableist when condemning far-right riots. Racism isn’t a “working class trait”. It’s woven into the fabric of our society and comes from the top. One of the few things that has trickled down. But it doesn’t have to be this way - we can build a better world.

I don't care if you have a personal issue with someone. You don't know what they go through day by day. Genuine criticism is ok - to someone's face. Not slagging them off behind their backs, questioning their health conditions.

It was deeply hurtful. The most painful one was from someone part of my community - the #disabled community. I believed that that person would understand that #NotAllDisabilitiesAreVisible and that there are fluctuating conditions. Instead, they used it to insult me.

I have been absent from X for some time. But I need to share something about my own journey with #Disability. Recently, I have had 2 people I liked and respected (one who is ALSO #disabled) question my disabilities. Not to my face, but as part of rants to other people.

Hi @LGBTLabour . We’re all confused. What is your function? Nothing to say about Wes Streeting? If you’re not defending trans people, then it’s fake to keep the T in your name.

1) I'm utterly sick of every government - Labour, Tory, whatever - defining the absolute worth of a person by work. "We'll help people get back to work", "It's important to work", "Everyone should have the goal to return to work", etc. Please understand:

I honestly believe there is a coordinated neoliberal agenda in this profession to denigrate and trivialise person centred practice and philosophy. It's not just a psychoanalytic agenda either, it's happening from various quarters in the profession.

Wondering if @bacp and @ncpscounselling agree with their SCoPEd partners @BritPsyCouncil re their thoughts on PCA? “Although the therapist will keep professional boundaries, the role in ordinary life that is nearest is that of a good friend.” @TPCAorg #therapistsconnect
