Nothing wrong with that at all. Appropriate move as some of them may have been injured. Doesn’t mean Sri Lanka is against the US either. Spain, OTOH, is a different story. They’ve benefitted from US investment in NATO, while under-spending their financial support obligations all along, and then denying us the very use of military facilities that we’ve already been using. BTW, those facilities inject a ton of dollars into the local Spanish economies. It might just be time to jettison Spain from NATO. Let Spain be the non-NATO test case. Stop trying to make nothing into something.

Managed to get a flight back next Tuesday via SIN to LHR costing him/us £££++ extra - everyone affected should invoice USA1 for losses and extra costs. No support for the 🍊🤡

@MartinSLewis We r stuck in Sri Lanka , etihad updates every 12 hours . We can claim a refund but it doesnt cover anywhere close to the new flights via Singapore and extra hotel nights. Staysure insurance have told us they wont cover a cent !

@hel0801 @YvetteCooperMP @UKinSriLanka As fast as he tried to book flights via Singapore they were disappearing - booking a beach holiday is one thing but having to wait on a beach for a week until you can fly out is a different matter. He was meant to be home for his Grandma's 90th birthday yesterday!

I’m at the stage where I need to consider how long we’ll remain in Malaysia hoping for our original flight plans.

@YvetteCooperMP There’s lots of people trapped around the world that were originally travelling back via UAE that are forgotten about. We can’t register with foreign office as not in UAE and have no support for additional costs. Return flights via a non UAE route or direct and 4x what we paid.

It seems these Etihad flights today were done to get marooned pax out from hotels. Not publicized, not bookable, and officially no scheduled flights today. These flights can be viewed as evacuation charters, done without making a noise about it. Kudos to Etihad!
