The Green Dungeon is finally out on Drivethrurpg! This oneโ€™s been rattling around in our heads for a few years, and itโ€™s really rewarding to have it up! A puzzle-focused adventure for D&D 5e, itโ€™s built around thinking through challenges rather than straight combatโ€”riddles, mechanisms, and careful choices. You can drop it into whatever campaign youโ€™re running, and the difficulty can be adjusted as needed. No specific spells required; itโ€™s more about observation and creativity, and should take around 3 sessions to finish, depending on how the challenges are approached. It comes with a craft pack PDF: monster cards, standees, and room tiles sized for both in-person play and VTTs. Everything you need to put it on the table immediately. drivethrurpg.com/en/product/553โ€ฆ

Imagine Magazine, issue 6, from 1983, features cover art by Emmanuel , the Thief-Acrobat, an AD&D adventure, and articles โ€œDispel Confusion,โ€ and โ€œTurrnbull Talking.โ€ Interestingly, in one article, we see some critique of TSR, saying their heavy-handed approach may be damaging their reputation in the hobby. After the magazineโ€™s short run ended, Gary Gygax publicly voiced his displeasure with Imagineโ€™s critical takes on their parent company.

The Challenger Series Dungeonmaster Screen, from 1993 offers all the charts and graphs youโ€™d expect from a DMโ€™s screen, along with โ€œEscape from Thunder Rift,โ€ a nice little adventure in which the PCsโ€™ search for a dangerous mage leads them to a dungeon where they may discover a gate between the valley of Thunder Rift and the World of Mystara. Itโ€™s obvious a decent amount of work was put into making this which makes the rehashed cover art a bit of a head scratcher.

Prepare to meet your Deeth! โ€œDeeth is a powerful fighter who is capable of defeating any and all evil doers in combat. Since childhood, she has trained as a warrior with many weapons. She is feared by many because she uses her sword of light and battle mace with lightning speed and accuracy. Deeth usually travels alone, but will always join forces with other good fighters when it is necessary.โ€ Deeth is from the 1984 series two, and has a "Battle Mattic" action with her arm. She was fully pose-able, comes with a long maroon cloak, a yellow morning star, a silver/yellow light sword with eagle claw hilt.

On his deathbed, the Khan was suddenly devoured by green flame. Without hesitation, his tortle high priest Molomew severed the dying kingโ€™s thumb before he was entirely consumed. Led by the late kingโ€™s brother, Zarrack, Molomew and his fellow tortle priest Rapherton descended to the secret sewers below Guildemere. A tortle barbarian, Kato, tiefling journalist, Aprisi and Orionic bugbear knight, Olfin, accompanied them to help safeguard the fragile resurrection appendage to sea and eventually the Gorkane jungles south of them. Below in the sewers they encountered a drunkard named Bert, pack of rats and undead, and an ogre. However, the biggest challenge was defeating a fish cult headed by an albino taer. With stunning teamwork, the group prevailed, defeating the Kuo-Toas and frightened the subterranean ape away!

๐Ÿ”‘THE LESSER KEY OF SOLOMON: LEMEGETON๐Ÿ”‘ Likely taken from Weyerโ€™s 1577 Pseudomonarchia Daemonium, this anonymous 17th Century manuscript details ritualistic magic in connection to daemons and spirits. A book that predated it, and largely inspired its contents, The Key of Solomon, delves into Renaissance Magic, which includes the seven artes magicae: necromancy, geomancy, hydromancy, aeromancy, pyromancy, chiromancy, and scapulimancy (notice the four elements in these seven schools). These works, in turn, were influenced by Jewish kabbalists and Arab magicians, in particular, The Magical Treatise of Solomon from the 15th Century. A massive amount of this knowledge was destroyed with the rise of Christendom, particularly Protestantism. One might be wondering what the Jewish King Solomon has to do with occult magic. According to the mythos behind these manuscripts, Solomon authored the original spells and gifted them to his son Rehoboam. When Babylonian philosophers discovered the book years later in Solomonโ€™s sonโ€™s tomb, an angel allowed Iohรฉ Grevis to interpret it, and the rest is history. Dungeon Masters may benefit from seeing how shapes, compass coordinates, antiquity metaphysics and Transitus Fluvii alphabets coalesced into an occult system. The LEMEGETON is full of fascinating views on metaphysics that treat world as a manifestation of mind a la Hinduism and Kantian thinking.
