Battle of the Bulge - the Northern Shoulder

Belgian living in the #BoB North region. I confirm past events by checking the ground. Open to guide visitors to the true places, avoiding mercantile aspects.

I find the state of preservation just incredible!

The first of 5 wreck of a StuG III G assault gun near the port of Cuxhaven, near Nordholz – a NATO military airfield. It's really thick, surprising, problematic and has "German military bureaucracy" on a par with The Twelve Tasks of Asterix ^^ 1/3 #WW2 #History #Tanks

@2strokerulz @ArkadiuszMolis1 Agreed.
But that one is not on the Oder, it is close to Cuxhaven
English

@Nav5_Oh @VoicesofWW2 Yes, looks like it.
GIs were vere fond of German weapons.
English

@Bulge_Northern @VoicesofWW2 Is that a captured StG-44 the GI is carrying?
English

US Army GI's inspect destroyed enemy tank at Arracourt, France September 1944.
September 19, 1944, two German Panzer brigades equipped with factory new Panther tanks rolled toward the small French town of Arracourt and ultimately destroyed.
What followed became the largest tank battle on the Western Front before the Battle of the Bulge. By the end of September, the German brigades that had attacked with over 260 tanks were reduced to just 62 operational vehicles. Both brigade commanders were killed.

@ArkadiuszMolis1 Incredible !
Our friends from @SARGalileo had the #GalileoSARmeet2023 on the Nordholz base, home to the MFG5.
A huge airbase !

@JunctionCity3 @BattlefieldDisc @WWIImuseum If I am not mistaken, it is the "Gare de Stoumont".
Behind the curve leading to Targnon.

Yesterday, we visited this spot on a private tour for the @WWIImuseum . The father of one of the guests was part of the gun crew and we brought the client to the very same spot where his dad helped stop the main attack during the Battle of the Bulge.

English

@VoicesofWW2 Apologies, but this is completely wrong.
This is a Tiger II (Koenigstiger), and it is not Arracourt, but a place in the Ardennes.
Besides, the picture is staged, a smoke grenade was launched into the turret to simulate fire.
English

@battlefieldexpl Many of these foxholes are unfortunately no longer "genuine".
They have been "reshaped" by generations of reenters to make them look better on Social Media.
Probably one (of the many) reasons why this part of the woods has been fenced...
English

@IsraelMenn266 @huanghebian Oh yeah?
Can you please name the places and dates ?
English

@huanghebian Lo raro fue que los EEUU durante las ardenas fusilaron a 90 prisioneros alemanes antes de los hechos ocurridos en malmedy por los alemanes y no se juzgo a nadie
Español

@battlefieldexpl @mmorrissey72 Would you have an idea if the garrison bunker under Hotel "der Türken" is still open for visits ?
Or if the Hotel has resumed operations now ? Its fate was rather uncertain since it has been bought recently (for a hefty sum, if I remember correctly).
English

@Bulge_Northern @mmorrissey72 That they cannot come soon enough
English

@mmorrissey72 @battlefieldexpl Thank you very much.
That visit is on my list - when the fuel prices will have gone down a bit 😉
English

@militaryhistori Come and say hi. I am in La Gleize - Stoumont (and Cheneux and the famous bridge at Neufmoulin) !

@Edward12HW @HistorylandHQ @SoldiersWhisper Here.
As you can see; the bullet impacts are still visible in the wall (even if only a fragment of it remains).

Interesting point. “The Country of Iran”👇🏻👇🏻
English

@militaryhistori Read a very interesting comment (can’t find it back immediately) in which the poster remarked that for once DT didn’t mention “the regime” but “the country of Iran”
This could signal good contacts with acceptable “replacements” like Pahlavi, and not with the powers in place.
English

⚡️BREAKING⚡️
DJT has just posted on Truth Social that he will temporarily CEASE strikes on Iran's energy targets. It seems that, under pressure of Iran's threat to the world economy, Trump has blinked first.
Analysis: proves Trump regime had not considered implications of their war. Will strengthen Tehran & disappoint Iranians hoping for regime change
