@HunterNewberry8 @CFC_Junior_ @MrBeast I assume everyone presses blue wants to die, otherwiae they would press red. So i actually dont want to stand in the way of their death wish.

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

If this was how the buttons looked, what portion of humanity would press blue? It'd probably be a large enough number due to mistakes, the young, altruists, etc., such that it remains wise to press blue.

@VolkerPetzer 3.

@boulderfish @elCrabb @dannycantalk You have watched 1000 people try to game the system 500 opened 1 box and got a million, 500 opened 2 boxes and got a thousand, now you step in thinking it'll be different if you do it.

You're not betting on anything though. The prediction has already been made. Choosing just B doesn't make it any more likely that the super-accurate predictor predicted that you would chose just B. Again, maybe I'm missing something though.

We're done rehashing the button question. Time to rehash Newcomb's Paradox. Are you a one-boxer or a two-boxer?

The inability to abstract out the 50% threshold and face the implications is the breakfast question for button moralizers “What if the survival threshold was other than fifty percent?” “The poll said fifty percent” “What if it didn’t?” “You don’t care about other people”

@danny_bttrmn @EdwinFingleton @Metal_Crow That is true, however, every person that died pressed blue, no person that died pressed red. Only by pressing blue you become susceptible to death.

@danny_bttrmn @EdwinFingleton @Metal_Crow Factually people would die because they pressed the blue button. Nobody dies because he pressed the red button. For every death there is 1 blue button press that caused it.

@simohayha431 @Aella_Girl I just take the problem as is. The entity doesnt matter. The result happens with magic and its over.

@Bunneehe @Aella_Girl You think the entity would still stick around somewhere after killing the blue is not the closer assumption than the entity will just go away or kill themself after killing blue? which is the closer one in terms of possibility?

im confused by people saying the right answer is pressing red. the good outcomes are 51% of ppl press blue OR 100% of people press red. the second is obvs way less likely

@simohayha431 @Aella_Girl Yes, the creation of the scenario relies on assumptions. But just assuming things to distort the experiment is utterly pointless. I assume every red picker will be rewarded with eternal life for making the right choice and the entity brings paradise. You still team blue?

@Bunneehe @Aella_Girl thought experiments need assumptions. if you dont wanna make assumptions then dont think and be a slave to the entity. atleast you'll survive longer. I see now, Red pressers are just dumb people who are too lazy to think. Got it. World is doomed if red wins.

@prerat @cremieuxrecueil The "murder game" has already been initiated. Blues "nothing" is also conditional in more than 50% pressing it, so this is not reframing, it is simply wrong.

@unimatrix325 @prerat @cremieuxrecueil The red button didnt controbute anything to that. It was 100% caused by the pepeople pressing the blue button. The red button did what it said, which is nothing, the blue button put their names into the gamble.

@danny_bttrmn @Metal_Crow But what is happening was not cause by pressing the red button. So yes, the red button dies nothing. You can even remove the red button. Press blue or not press blue? You want to join the death gamble? If thats your thing have fun

@Bunneehe @Amiraalieu @Metal_Crow It does cause death. It doesn’t cause death if nobody pressed blue but in every other scenario it causes death.
