Successful owners obsess over ONLY 1 thing every Monday morning:
Too many owners are flying blind.
They have a "gut feeling" about how the business is doing.
They look at their bank account and think that tells the whole story.
It doesn't.
Your bank balance is a lagging indicator.
By the time you see a problem there, you've been bleeding cash for weeks.
A proper scorecard gives you leading indicators:
- Are you winning or losing THIS WEEK?
- What needs immediate attention?
- Where should you double down?
- Is your sales process working?
This is why I wake up early every Monday.
I lock in 1-2 hours to review the numbers and decide where to focus my attention for the week.
Being intentional is the biggest hack I know to get ahead in business.
If not, you get CRUSHED by the daily chaos of owning a business.
You get pulled in a million directions.
A key employee quits. A driver crashes your truck into a garage door. Your credit card is locked due to fraud.
It's impossible to grow when your mind is focused on triaging situations.
The scorecard keeps you focused on what actually moves the needle.

@thedulab @keithnewton I’ve heard Hormozi talk about this in a fitness setting
He says he never plans rest days
He plans on working out everyday and if hes not feeling great he will take a rest day
Why waste a day you’re feeling strong on a rest day just because you planned a rest day and visa versa
English

@keithnewton Yes. Great point on the last part. Days where the brain just isn't firing. That's ok. Divert a bit from the gameplan. Being able to do that when you need to, that's when you really feel the benefits of time freedom
English

Btw when I say 9-5 lifestyle this doesn't mean I'm championing being employed over doing your own thing. All I'm saying is that if you ever end up breaking out of the traditional system, which is more mental than it is physical, you'll probably come to realize that a lot of your frustrations were misguided
Whether you work with others or it's just you, have steady income or eat what you kill, my personal view is that this idea of doing whatever you want, whenever you want, is an idea that only sounds intoxicating when you've never been able to experience it before
Waking up and going to bed at random times every day, doing things when you "feel like it," quickly turns into feeling like you want to do nothing. Worst I've felt was when I'd finish my morning coffee and have to think about what to do next, and these were periods where finances were the least of my worries too
Contrasted with the best I've felt, which always involved feeling like I didn't have time to waste. Brain is ready to be used in the morning, put on an outfit that says "I want the world to notice I'm here," step out of my house to invoke the senses, post up somewhere that gets me in the zone, and make the most of this precious energy
Energy shifts a few hours later, unwind a bit by interacting with people, sharing laughs, reminding yourself that you're still very much human and an active part of the flow of society. Tie up some loose ends, come back home to mark the transition into a more restful mode, head hits the pillow knowing you provided various types of value to the world
Intentional, unforced structure that respects the body's desire to move to a rhythm. A routine you get to lock into, as opposed to have to endure. Doesn't look too different from the "old life," but feels completely different now
du@thedulab
The 9-5 lifestyle was the real alpha all along. Start the morning by getting out of the house. Lock into a few hours of deep focus. Socialize with fellow humans when you want a break. Retreat back to your sanctuary after a long day of progress The only reason it feels like a prison is because you're being forced to do it. But have your own autonomy and make your own rules, many of you will eventually come to structure your routine this way again by choice after experiencing the insidious comfort of undisciplined freedom

@kadeprotocol @Owen0to1 @taio_cosimo Yeah the FB lead form is a must. I own a land clearing business and here are my September numbers on the marketing side for context. Definitely a ways to go, but nailing FB ads should be your top priority!

English

@Owen0to1 @taio_cosimo I need to learn how to do that. Looking in to it now!
English

This is wild… two new land clearing businesses, both running FB Ads:
@kadeprotocol ➡️ $700 spent, 0 leads
@Owen0to1 ➡️ $21k booked before even starting
Same platform, totally different outcomes.
What’s the secret sauce here Owen? Can you break it down for us?

$5K on Monthly Ad Spends
Only to reach the breakpoint. The pest control service has way more competition. The CPC range is from $7 to $30. To acquire a lead, need to spend a minimum of $100.
No organic leads
Just Google taking money
We created 73 location pages on Feb 1st
7 services
73 * 7 = 511 location pages
Each page focused on one service and one location
Proper internal link structure to speed up the indexing
After 6 months, the site reached 1500 organic visitors every month. Most of the traffic came from nearby service-based searches across the region.
It now ranks in over 40 nearby cities and brings in at least 3 calls daily. All leads come directly from Google Maps and organic search.
If you run a local business and still rely only on ads
You’re leaving long-term traffic on the table

@waitbutwhy A fun project I’ve done recently is throws this reading list into LLM of your choice.
Have it give you an intro to the book + key themes/why I would like it.
Then have it ask you your interest level.
After doing that for all books, it becomes clear what the next 3 to read are

A few weeks ago the @ycombinator batch begged me to make a CRM crash course for founder-led sales.
After multiple drink offers 🍻— I gave in.
The session itself went semi-viral inside the batch, and people keep asking for the video.
If you’re doing founder-led sales, the CRM might feel like this clunky behemoth system—it doesn’t have to.
In the video I go over the absolute basics:
→ The only 3 CRM objects that REALLY matter (Deals, Contacts, Companies)
→ CRM best practices
→ Why logging every interaction isn't optional
→ How to set up/automate your CRM so it becomes your single source of truth (and sales doesn't hate using it)
I wasn’t planning on releasing this outside the YC group, but given the response, happy to share it with others running early sales teams.
If you want the video → just comment "CRM" and I’ll DM it to you.
Thank you to Aaron Zelinger, @ghita__ha, @Pashpops, @JoshSabol, Thibault Henriet. @NityaArora14, @gunwoo__kim, @adinagoerres for making sure I got this out.
This ended up being one of the highest ROI hours I’ve spent lately — founders really need better sales and CRM playbooks.
If you’re in the trenches with founder-led sales and figuring this out, happy to help.

I bootstrapped Ampush to ~$30M in annual revenue with exactly one sales rep doing pure outbound.
The wild part?
That rep delivered the same 14-slide deck more than 800 times, word for word.
I just dug the deck out of my Dropbox.
It’s almost embarrassingly simple.
And it flat-out worked.
Want a copy?

I created my LinkedIn 9 weeks ago. Easiest algo to crack by far. I’ve since made more than 3,000 connections, recorded over 536,000 impressions, and added $12,000/month in revenue to my agency. Let me show you how I did it...
(Also, if you want some secrets about engagement groups just RT this, follow me and reply “X LinkedIn growth guide.”)
Before we start: the last two weeks I admit I've slacked off and skipped posting on certain days. Holidays are like that. My growth slowed as a result. But whenever I do post, magic happens.
My core strategy revolves around content output and content engagement. Both are essential for growth on LI. Let me explain each one in detail below.
Content Output
Post consistently:
- Aim for at least 3 posts daily (even more, if possible).
- Post on weekends when there’s less noise.
- The more you post, the better your odds of a hit.
Key principle: Volume creates luck.
10 posts = 1 hit
30 posts = 3-4 hits
50+ posts = at least one viral post
Schedule posts during peak times:
- Early morning, lunchtime, and late afternoon in your target audience’s time zone.
- Afternoons have been my top growth driver.
Treat each post as a new chance to succeed. Forget the “bad” ones; good posts can explode your reach.
Diversify Your Content
Avoid posting the same format back-to-back. Rotate daily:
Carousels: Step-by-step guides, frameworks, tutorials (2-3x reach).
GIFs/Videos: Product demos, tips, or personal stories (1.5x reach).
Static images: Infographics, quotes, or stats (baseline reach).
Tweet-style images: Punchy statements with a clean design (1.8x reach).
Text posts: Straightforward and easy to consume (70% of baseline).
Mix tutorials, flowcharts, case studies, and insights to keep things fresh. Experiment with tone, thought leadership, humor, or relatable anecdotes.
Content ranking (best to worst):
Carousels > Tweet-style images > GIFs/Videos > Static images > Text posts.
Double down on carousels, they drive engagement and reshares, amplifying your reach. Use tweet-style images for high-impact statements.
Engagement tip: Include CTAs like:
“Comment X below if Y.”
“DM me for personalized advice specific to your business.”
Content Engagement
Engage strategically:
- LinkedIn rewards interaction. When someone engages with your post, their followers see it too.
Target accounts with active or large followings:
- Niche creators
- Decision-makers (CEOs, VPs)
- Marketing pros (they love engaging)
- Ghostwriters (they manage big accounts)
Spend 75% of your LinkedIn time engaging with others:
- Like their posts.
- Leave thoughtful, value-adding comments (not just “Great post!”).
- Share their content with your insights.
- Connect with everyone who engages with your posts (as long as they’re not bots).
Form engagement groups:
- Build a small group (5-10) of like-minded creators who boost each other’s posts.
- Engage within 1 hour of posting for maximum algorithm boost.
- Mix comments, likes, and shares.
- If you need help finding a group, comment below, and I’ll help you set one up.
Leverage reciprocity:
- Engage with new creators in your niche by commenting thoughtfully on their posts.
- Build connections through DMs with those who regularly engage with you.
Daily engagement targets:
- Comment on 20+ posts.
- Like 50+ posts.
- Reply to all comments on your posts.
- DM 5 new connections.
LinkedIn rewards consistent effort. Focus on posting frequently, engaging strategically, and building relationships.
X/Twitter is fun, but LinkedIn is where financial decision-makers are. If you’re serious about monetizing your presence, this is the platform to invest in.
Try this strategy for a month and thank me on Day 31.
And if you want some secrets about engagement groups just RT this, follow me, and reply “X LinkedIn growth guide.”
