@Jbodenhe @Kappische Maybe, just maybe people are sharing their experiences to prove that, yes! There's a point as to why gyro improves a game for them and should be included in controllers. It is not the reason why the controller is priced as this tweet seems to suggest, an IMU costs cents at best.

@StormslayerDev I am also excited for SC2! SC2 will probably be the popular "do everything" controller, but it doesn't beat how on comfortable it will be compared to what SC brings with trackpads as main input + gyro.

@StormslayerDev This is a huge dissociation words in a sentence, you can't be a fan of the SC and say "the extra stick and dpad makes it perfect now". SC is a trackpad-controller first, SC2 is SteamDeck-layout with extra features minus screen with trackpads as secondary. SC is already perfect.

Gyro is by far the most mouse-like input on standard controllers, requires no aim assist, is more intuitive for newbies than stick aiming, and is easy to implement well (with the right resources). It's a blindspot for a lot of devs, but vital for any who take 🎮 aiming seriously

@Altombre @JibbSmart Unfortunately, this will continue to be the case if there's no efforts from Microsoft. It needs to be a popular input so people can show interest and maybe enforce them to introduce it in their future controllers. Could always allow console players to play with PC if Gyro is on.

@JibbSmart Not a blind spot for us fwiw, but it’s not supported on Xbox controllers natively. If we leaned super hard into gyro being “the way to play” on console we’d be heavily favoring PS5>Xbox, which we don’t want to do. Gyro tech is cool, especially with ratcheting, flick stick etc.

@Wario64 No, it won't have gyro. It's likely is just there for "Lift For Wake" functionality or for their cloud-based gaming. You know what had an accelerometer? The Wiimote. It worked because it had the sensor bar, Xbox doesn't. Much less games that supports it. twitter.com/JibbSmart/stat…

Apropos of nothing: accelerometers aren't gyroscopes and gyroscopes aren't accelerometers. They often come together. They can come separately. For aiming in a game, both together is best, gyro on its own is still very good, and accelerometer on its own is near useless. Cheers

@PixelsofMark Consider adding gyro aiming and flickstick. Both of these solutions provide a "mouse-like" aim without need of aim assist to do work for the player. Look at what other games such as Fortnite or latest CoD on implementation they provide.

@shaiuxx @ViscoseOCE If you see gyro gameplay from someone, they are definitely using their raw skills with no AA. You can have either precise aiming from gyro or AA, not both. Unless, you're emulating "gyro as joystick" but it's a lot more inconvenient than what it sounds like.

after 3 hours of practice on controller with gyro im getting above the median on some tracking tasks!! I think this input method has a lot of potential, I can see controller players not needing aim assist at all to compete with mnk with this

@coilworks I see, that's unfortunate. A suggestion for better mouse + gamepad then. Through Steam Input, players tend to use their controller gyro as a mouse, in some games that can lead button glyphs of both inputs conflicting eachother that can lead to issues. (1/2)

After a year of fallin into depression eating, switching back to low/zero carb, low/zero cholesterol, raw nuts+seeds, fresh fruits+veg, spinach+kale salads instead of bread sammiches, no red meat (just turkey+fish), and fat free yogurt im honestly feelin a lot better and stronger
