Sam Kieth’s cover to DARKER IMAGE #1! Darker Image #1 was designed to showcase the debut of 3 new characters in 3 separate stories by Jim Lee, myself and Sam Kieth. It was your first introduction to Deathblow, Bloodwulf and The Maxx. Jim and I were excited to share the stage with Sam as we were tremendous fans of all the he had done at Marvel & DC. Sam was game to join our little showcase and he provided such a stunning cover that neither Jim or I figured we needed to offer variants of our own. This was Sam’s official debut with Image. Jim and I would almost always have covers for #1 issues that we participated in but once I saw Sam’s and Jim saw it, we figured that we didn’t need to contribute. This was more than enough. Darker Image #1 debuted in Jan. 1993 a whopping 1 million copies. With one single cover by Sam. It’s a great book and the fun we each had jumps out from every story. Proud to have shared this experience. Why no Darker Image #2 you ask? Because audience reaction to each character was so positive that each received his own series as a result. Fun, fun memories. Rest In Peace, Sam Kieth!

I miss my buddy. He was a force of nature and a lovely person. Think of him often. His brilliant work lives on

Alien vs. Predator by Capcom is often overshadowed by bigger licenses, but it’s one of the most polished arcade brawlers ever made, blending gunplay with melee combat. It also never received a proper home port at the time, making the arcade version the only way to experience it for years.

William Shatner is 95 today! How could I not post something from Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (1982)? The Enterprise crew came roaring back and delivered one of the all-time great sequels, basically a submarine thriller in space. Shatner is brilliant here.

His art was raw and unmistakably his. Sam's influence will be felt for generations. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans.

Today marks 6 years since I lost my beautiful mother. She died alone in hospital & not from CONVID. For 20 years she was a careworker, often staying after her shift, unpaid to sit with an elderly person who was dying. She did'nt believe anybody should die alone. Never forget what the bastards did to us. RIP mum 😢 🙏 💔. (This is not my mums funeral but it was pretty much the same)

Today marks a depressingly devastating moment for anyone who likes comics. Because Sam Kieth has officially passed away. Kieth's work and story will never be forgotten. As one of the most unique sequential artists the medium has ever seen. (+)
