@TechNoir5000 @innoc_bystander No exercise evidence being had. And most of just pray it isn’t us or our teen drivers who hit them when they swerve recklessly through traffic or onto the mail roads. I truly seen them on the freeway feeder roads (access road for those not in Houston).

So as a society we’ve just accepted that 10 year olds can now drive Class IV electric motorcycles, that go 40 mph and have more torque than on Tacoma, on civilian sidewalks?

One good use of AI that hasn't gotten enough focus yet: general public can have Grok scan through 100 or even 1000 page bill Congress wants to ram through without anyone reading it- and highlight every sell out provision, hidden pork giveaway- the whole game exposed

"Kids aren’t getting to experience full novels in school anymore and they’re HUNGRY for it." This teacher's points about novels vs excerpts are spot on. "I’ve been reading novels all year with my students, but it feels like a clandestine act of subterfuge. I’ve had to claw back minutes from a disjointed ELA curriculum that I’m supposed to be teaching with fidelity. But it’s worth it. Your writing and others give me the inspiration, and evidence, to continue. Today, my fourth grade class finished the complete novel “Out of My Mind” about a brilliant girl with cerebral palsy. A boy, with emotion in his voice, reflected that he would, “Never look at someone with a disability in the same way ever again.” Others chimed in with similar sentiments. These reactions were only possible because we read the whole story. In our basal, it was presented as an out of context excerpt. When we finished Number the Stars, another young boy literally leapt out of his seat and loudly exclaimed, “That was the best book I’ve ever!” Kids aren’t getting to experience full novels in school anymore and they’re HUNGRY for it. It’s not just that disconnected ELA curriculum are ineffective, but they are robbing students of these experiences."

My favorite parts of this video are when Megan Rapinoe does quotes around “biological female” as if it’s something that’s new and completely made up, and when she claims it’s not scientific that males have advantages in sports over females

@ClayTravis I don’t know what science classes she took growing up, but she should definitely sue because they clearly didn’t teach her facts.

Megan Rapinoe says the Olympics requiring women’s sports to be played by women is “hateful” and has no basis in science. Sue Bird agrees. Retired women’s athletes supporting their own erasure from sports is wild to see.

𝐌𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: I’m a typical man. Stubborn. I hate the doctor. I’m 47 years old. Haven’t been feeling good lately, 2 years behind schedule on my colonoscopy. Kept finding excuses, due to fear of getting bad news. Forced myself to do it today. Wasn’t anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be. Results were clear. 🙏 I feel silly now. Just get it done. Take care of yourself and your health. 🤘🏼

The U.S. is trying to bomb and kill the surviving pilot in Iran. American jets have begun dropping massive payloads on the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province (largely uninhabited). They’ve withdrawn all helicopters and recon planes. They are not trying to rescue him.

This is called the Oniscidae. You may find them under a brick or a damp object. You may have felt disgusted and wondered why they exist in nature. Well, let me tell you, the oniscdae, better known as cochineal, is a subgroup of isopod crustaceans whose function is to remove harmful heavy metals from the earth such as mercury, cadmium and lead. They contribute to the cleansing of soil and groundwter to reaffirm the wisdom of nature. Do not damage them or spray pesticides!

@BuzzPatterson Yeah, I’m going to disagree on the water. When I’ve asked for it they pour it from a larger bottle into my cup of ice. Coffee I can’t say, I’ll avoid that from now on.

Tips from an airline pilot: Don’t crowd the entrance at the gate. Board with your zone, otherwise it slows everything down. Likewise, when you get to your seat, move into your row to stow your bags. Again, it slows everything down if you don’t, especially for those sitting in the back. Don’t drink the water or coffee. The water tanks only get cleaned out occasionally. Bring your water and coffee onboard. The tones you hear are just the crew communicating with each other. Use your AirPods or headphones as much as you can. It’ll make the flight infinitely quieter. Exit rows can be a great seat with extra legroom but not all exit rows are created equal. The rows immediately adjacent to the emergency exits on most jets don’t recline. Turbulence is normal, expected, completely safe, and all aircraft are built for it. It’s not in any way, shape, or form, dangerous. It may be uncomfortable but that’s the worst that can happen. Aircraft malfunctions and emergencies happen from time to time. Trust me, the crews have been trained ad infinitum on it all. Over and over again. Bottom line, we want to get home to our families and friends too. Any questions? Pilots want to get home too….

Sorry Jonah. I actually sat in the room for the first half of the movie. For 24 polite years, Presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama diplomatically asked NATO members to increase defense spending. For 24 years, it was one excuse after another, all focused in Western Europe on how they wish they could spend more, but their social welfare spending priorities wouldn’t let them. In other words, you the US will spend on defense and protect us. Along comes rude Donald Trump. Finally, someone made clear that if Europe kept freeloading the US was done. It took a bill in the China shop to move Europe. Diplomacy failed. Trump prevailed. That’s reality whether you or I like it. NATO self-withered after 75 years. If Spain, England, Italy and France won’t spend what’s necessary to have a real military, it’s time for something new.

Only 16 episodes of Hong Kong Phooey aired between Sept to Dec 1974. I could’ve sworn there were hundreds. Scatman Crothers (The Shining/Cuckoo’s Nest) voiced Penry: mild-mannered janitor by day, ass-kicking superhero by… also day. He sang the theme, too. You know the words.

@wine_018 Sadly he's going to be bored off his ass reading them. Don't get me wrong, they were required reading for me in school like most kids & I'm a better person for it with a cogent understanding of allegory, racial & political injustice & how it relates to modern times...but damn.

I had a conversation with one of my guys at work. He's 23, a good "kid" and he seems to have a great head on his shoulders. We were talking about required reading when I was in school; Animal Farm, 1984, To Kill a Mocking Bird, etc. He never heard of 1984. No idea about Animal Farm. He did know about "Mocking Bird." The look on my face had to show my disappointment. I said, "Bro, these are important books. So relevant today!" Hours later, he showed me his Amazon receipt. That's a win.
