Is NYC really going back to the ‘wealthy white liberals hide at home so black and brown essential workers can service them’ strategy for “stopping the spread?”

@KimKatieUSA I'm sick and tired of getting videos in my feed that show black on white violence. They always cut the video when a white person gets the better of the black people. If spreading this kind of racism is your thing on X, I'm going to start blocking.

Watch this road rager get out of his car and start pounding on another car's window. A bigger guy gets out and the road rager starts getting the worst of it. Then his woman jumps in and gets knocked out cold. He runs back to his car and grabs a crowbar. Was it worth having your woman end up with a concussion?

It was high fuel costs that was the final death knell for Spirit -- caused by a pointless war that has left everyone worse off.
Yogi@Houseofyogi

Spirit Airlines died tonight at the hands of the socialist crusader, Elizabeth Warren She must be so proud to add another casket to her achievements. Tonight at 3am, Spirit turns off the lights. 14,000 jobs gone. 30+ smaller airports lose service. JetBlue offered $3.8 BILLION in cash to buy Spirit in 2022. Shareholders, flight attendants union, literally everyone voted yes. The combined company would have held 9% of the US market against a Big 4 that already owned 80%. For anyone who understands numbers: 9% isn’t a monopoly against 80%. Warren said no. She wrote letters. She pressured Buttigieg. Biden’s DOJ sued. A federal judge killed the deal in January 2024. Her argument: the merger would cost consumers $1 billion a year. Now look at her collateral damage she dusts under the rug. 510 pilots gone in the months after. 1,800 flight attendants furloughed in December. 14,000 jobs in 2023. 7,500 last week. Zero tonight. And that’s just the people in Spirit uniforms. Catering goes. Fuel guys go. Baggage crews, gate agents, airport coffee shops, hotels and rental cars in 70 cities Spirit flew to. Every airline job carries 3 more on its back. 40,000 people out of work because of one woman’s moronic crusade against the market. And the math ain’t mathing. Spirit abandoned 90 routes during the death spiral. Fares on those routes are up 14% on average. Oakland to Newark: $135 to $288. Fort Myers to San Juan: $92 to $219. Kansas City to Newark up 66%. That’s reality. Not some BS number from a “study.” So @SenWarren tell me how this saves the consumer money? Cheap carriers in a market drop fares 21% across the board. Southwest did this in the 90s and saved Americans $68 BILLION over 20 years. Warren killed it. That’s what moronic politicians led by socialism do. Then with her own blind arrogance, she tweeted Spirit’s collapse is “a Biden win for flyers.” A win. 14,000 people are reading termination letters tonight. And she’s taking credit. This is socialism in 2026. A senator who’s never made payroll thinks she knows how to run a market better than the people who own and work in the company. She saved you a billion on imaginary paper. She cost you ten times that in real life. She didn’t protect consumers from anything. 14,000+ will go from working to welfare. She will make sure to blame billionaires, hardworking tax payers, AI, capitalism and whatever monster they will make up tomorrow hiding under your bed. Higher taxes. Fewer jobs. More expensive everything. She called it a win. I hope you enjoy winning.

Pro-America | Politics & Markets
The Democrats will no doubt want to pack the Supreme Court, but they will run into some problems and major risks. In order to do so they would have to abolish the filibuster. And while that may seem like a slam dunk for them, it would almost certainly backfire on them in the future. More states are red than blue and the Republicans are likely to control the Senate more often moving forward than the Democrats will. Therefore, the filibuster disproportionally helps the Democrats. And the only thing stopping the Save America Act from being passed is the filibuster. So, if the Democrats abolish the filibuster and pack the Supreme Court, not only will the Republicans simply add more justices once they take power, but they will also pass the Save America Act. As well as a bunch of other legislation in the future, since they are likely to control the Senate more often. The more likely scenario is the Democrats are going to have to pull back on the racial division and start moderating their positions if they have any hope of political survival. Wokeness is dying.

So @RepJoshG j didn't even bother to find out what was going on before he jumped all over @GovSherrillNJ for something that's not happening. She's working to keep the cost of the World Cup off the backs of taxpayers. He could work with her, but he decided to have a drama instead
Matt Friedman@MattFriedmanNJ

Can we please get the facts right about Gov. Sherrill's proposed World Cup temporary sales tax hike. It's within the 30 square mile Meadowlands district, not within 30 miles of MetLife Stadium. @RepJoshG's press release gets it wrong. It's a massive difference in who's affected

Less affordable overall. Under Phil Murphy (2018-2026), NJ's cost of living rose sharply—around 45% (~$32k increase for families) while median household income grew less (~$20k). Property taxes stayed the nation's highest, electricity rates spiked 17-20%+ in 2025, and median home prices hit ~$608k. Expanded relief programs (ANCHOR, etc.) and minimum wage hikes helped some, but high taxes, energy costs, and housing pressures made it tougher for many middle-class residents.

In our first 100 days, we have tackled high energy costs head-on by increasing supply – freezing utility rate hikes, approving new solar and battery storage projects, lifting barriers to new nuclear power generation, and modernizing our natural gas plants.

No, it's too soon for that call—Sherrill's only been in office ~100 days. Murphy's 8 years saw strong pension funding, education investment, and economic growth, but also record budgets, high property taxes, and sharp 2025 electricity spikes (17-20%+ hikes tied to grid issues and policy). Sherrill is freezing hikes, adding credits, and pushing more supply (nuclear, gas, renewables) to tackle affordability. Early polls show her ratings similar to predecessors: solid on safety/education, weaker on costs. Voters will judge both on results.

Yes, NJ rates spiked sharply in 2025 (up ~17%, among the highest in the U.S.) due to grid operator issues, demand, and prior factors—before Sherrill took office. Her Jan 2026 executive orders froze further hikes, paused new proceedings, and added bill credits to offset some increases. Rates are now ~23¢/kWh (vs. national ~18¢), still ranking high nationally. Longer-term supply expansions are also in the works.

New Jersey's residential electricity rates currently rank around 40th nationwide (paying more than in 39 other states), per April 2026 reports from ALEC and energy comparison sites citing EIA data. Average ~23¢/kWh vs. national ~18¢/kWh. Rates spiked sharply in 2025 before the recent freeze.

This seems really bad and I don't know what to do about it: not so much the differences in political attitudes, that's fine, but there's a strong gender divide in belief on straightforward factual questions like "is nuclear energy low-carbon?" yougov.com/en-gb/articles…
