This is VVPuram opposite to national college Metro station.Road is totally blocked by VV Puram traffic not to allow vehicles to be parked in front of apartments and houses.Why the same rules do not apply to basavanagudi traffic???

Time to hang my boots It was the summer of 2021. I was driving on a narrow road in East Bengaluru when a tractor approached from the opposite direction. With no space to give way, I veered sideways and hit a massive pothole. The impact had damaged the lower body of my car. Enraged, I confronted the tractor driver, blaming him for reckless driving. He apologized and after a bit of argument, we parted ways. Once the anger subsided, I realized I had lashed out at the wrong person. The real villain wasn't the driver, rather it was the system. Years of apathy, broken infrastructure, and utter neglect were the true cause. The moment had changed something in me. I reached out to a few like-minded individuals, and together, we started the citizen movement, East Bengaluru. We teamed up with a passionate lake activist and helped recover lakes from encroachers. The movement gained momentum. Media noticed. The community grew. But with time, people moved on. Priorities changed. A handful of us stayed, raising our voices, tagging authorities, writing letters, and showing up. Most of our complaints to the CM's office, MLAs, @blrcitytraffic, and @blrcitypolice received quick fixes. But various problems - crumbling roads, brazen encroachments, choking rajakaluves - remained. During the journey, we worked on several issues. Here are some that I carry with pride: 1. Worked with @captsanthoshkc to revive 36 interconnected lakes. We removed illegal encroachments over rajakaluves, while facing life threats and other forms of harassment. We recovered over 1 lakh sq. ft. of Gattahalli Lake land from a well-known builder. It took us 6 to 7 months of grueling work; chasing officials in various departments. We started with panchayat, moving to taluka -> district -> MLA -> MP -> KTCTA, and finally officially requesting with the CM office. During the process, I had received life threats, which disturbed and worried the family members. I was urged to stop, but even then I didn't stop and continued unabated work. 2. Teamed up with Bengaluru Police to address a wave of eve-teasing and night attacks in East Bengaluru. Helped form an Emergency Response Team (ERT). In one case, @DCPTrEastBCP formed 11 teams and caught the culprits under 48 hours. We received heartfelt appreciation. 3. Worked with @lkatheeq to process 110+ Khata transfers without bribes, saving over ₹14 lakh in taxpayer money. 4. Partnered with @masaleemips to ease traffic chaos on Sarjapur Road. Helped create a QAT (Quick Action Team) that's still active today. 5. We wrote dozens of letters to the CM's office, demanding basic infrastructure development for the East Bengaluru. I persisted for multiple years, taking time out of my busy schedule. At times, even prioritizing the work over personal safety & family. In return, I received hate and racial slurs. When the BJP ruled, we were called members of the Congress IT Cell. Now, under Congress, the same people call us as BJP IT Cell. Lately, I am getting threats of legal action for tarnishing "Brand Bengaluru". With my life literally at risk, I have been asking myself for sometime: what is it all for? I didn't take this serious endeavor for gain something in return. Not for fame. Not for some lucrative backdoor deals. Or a position in some political party. Did it for a quiet, stubborn love for this city and this country. The only motive was to bring in some positive change, even if miniscule. All I have received is exhaustion, abuse, and threats from every side. The signals are clear. It is time for me to stop. I have given enough of my time, energy, and peace. I will let others carry the struggle forward. Goodbye, Bengaluru.
