After much work by @CityofVancouver staff and the development community, the MultiPlex Report (allowing 4-6 homes on most RS-1 lots, 60% of the buildable land in the City) is public! After the McDougall Creek wildfire devastated Lake Okanagan Resort in 2023, the NDP made promises to affected residents. And then walked away. Almost three years later, property owners still have no reliable potable water, no building permits, and no path to rebuilding their homes and lives. We are demanding that the Province use its own powers under the Emergency and Disaster Management Act to restore clean water and essential utilities so reconstruction can finally begin, and these residents can rebuild their lives. The tools are in the NDP's hands. They've just chosen not to use them. Lake Okanagan Resort families deserve better than hollow promises and years of government abandonment. #bcpoli

@dave_pasin No, that is incorrect. He is not a developer. He is a design builder. People hire his company to design and build homes. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I would say his work is among the nicest in the city.

Of course is a developer. He’s gonna say that he as makes his living building these poorly built, ugly pieces of crap. All he cares about is making money. What does the ambiance, feel & neighborliness and look of a neighbourhood matter to him as long as he gets his money!

@LhommeDesole I bought cheap tires once. They was enough for me. Vancouver is wet and surrounded by mountains. If you are somewhere flat + dry and drive pretty chill, they could work out well!

I’m tempted to buy super cheap summer tires just to see what they’re like. At half the price of the name brand stuff, would they be half as good? I’m a man of science.

@rodmickleburgh It seems like a poor use of resources to consider moving the cross. The city is choosing not to have lifeguards in some locations this summer. Budgets are cut to the bone. Lets leave this alone.

Just buy an EV and your cost of living will go down by thousands of dollars a year. Driving a gas car is 4-5 times more expensive. Lots of great EVs at a good prices online.

@angelohikebike @rodmickleburgh @NorthShoreNews What is the EV you bought & what is the PHEV? We have a Tesla + a Toyota. The acceleration & ride quality are better in the Tesla & the fuel is free. I add windshield fluid to the Tesla twice a year. I just filled the Toyota with gas at $2.06/liter & paid for an oil change.

13 cents more a litre than yesterday, just adding to the already high cost of living. My family has two vehicles we spend roughly $800 a month on gas, how about you? Public transit is great but sometimes can be challenging in the ‘burbs @GlobalBC @BradWestPoCo @jarmstrongbc
