@Sorelle_Arduino We took my son to a pizza place for his 13th b'day - three adults and two kids. The kids shared a pizza, there were shared chips for the table, and the adults had a pasta or seafood dish each. And that was plenty - we nearly rolled out of there!

Panaroma paid for a family to eat out so they could moan about how expensive it is (& it is) but am I out of touch with saying that’s quite a lot of food for 2 adults & a 6 & 8yr old? 4 sets of dough balls, 1 kids macaroni, 3 pizzas, 2 salads, 2 polenta chips, 4 desserts 1/2

Why do seed sellers lie so much about tomatoes? I just looked at the seed packet from one I grew this year called Money Maker - 160gm fruit, according to them. The pic on the packet shows fruit the size of a walnut, which is how big mine grew - they barely weigh 50gm! Tasty tho😋

@VoteSustainable Not true that large numbers are coming from Western countries, but apart from that I agree with her.

📰 Angela from Sydney is on the other side of the political spectrum from [One Nation’s] Tasman, but she also thinks that current migration levels are among the factors making housing more unaffordable and harder to find. Alongside migration, she's also quick to cite things like the capital gains tax discount as one of the factors driving up property prices. "I've seen where there has been pockets of affordable housing to being no affordable housing, and families just not being able to stay in the area," she told Insight. However, she stressed that "it's about the numbers" not the ethnic or religious backgrounds of migrants. "I'm very upset with some of these political parties that pick on minorities. When, you know, large portions of people are coming from Western countries, and we don't talk about that." …Angela also reaffirmed that, for her, immigration is not the only factor driving the housing crisis, but is one that cannot be ignored. "If you have a large number of people coming and we don't have adequate housing for the existing people or new people, then there's going to be some tensions in terms of the population growth..." "It's the tax system that's driving a lot of the speculative buying, but it's also the sheer numbers of people coming into the country. So, it's like ... I just think the whole system's broken. "There is a lot of things that need to be fixed." ⤵ sbs.com.au/news/insight/a… 📌 Create a fair and sustainable Australia: sustainableaustralia.org.au/HOUSING 🏡

@ausvstheagenda Oooh, let me see - do I like Australia of 25 years ago where houses weren't a luxury good and machetes were only a gardening implement, or do I prefer "modern" Australia?

@AngelaLeeAngle 😂 We have been laughing - we had to admire ratty's cunning! We had barricaded him behind the fridge with a loaded rat trap which he was too smart to enter. He must have climbed the back of the fridge and then leapt 6ft to the ground - there was nothing for him to cling to.

This is Nola Karapanagiotidis, a judge in Victoria's County Court. In August 2024 she presided over a shocking case where a male pedophile (who calls himself a woman) was convicted of sexual abuse and penetration of his own 5 year old daughter on at least 19 separate occasions over a single month. The abuse occured at the explicit direction of an American pedophile named Samuel Booth, whom the offender had met online and entered into a coercive "master/slave" dynamic. The offending pedophile, whose name is protected by court, was found guilty of assaulting his child and creating at least 13 videos and 64 images of himself assaulting his child, and sending them to Booth for his gratification. In some footage, the pedophile is heard asking the child if she "likes it," to which she responds "No". In sentencing, this judge noted the pedophile's cooperation with police, expressions of regret, and hesitance during the abuse. She accepted the pedophile's assertion that the relationship with Booth involved "coercion and manipulation," with Booth "exploiting" the pedophile's "vulnerabilities" including low self-esteem, loneliness, submissiveness, and ongoing gender transition, and disgracefully ruled that these factors reduced the moral culpability of the offending. The judge also considered "gender dysphoria" and the "challenges of being a trans woman in prison" to be mitigating factors. The result was a disgraceful total effective sentence of 4 years and 9 months imprisonment, with eligibility for parole after just 2 years and 6 months. And to top it all off, at the request of the pedophile, the judge put the man into a women's prison. Although this story sparked massive public backlash last year, the Victorian government decided to keep the offender in a woman's prison, but isolated him due to the publicity and safety concerns surrounding his presence in the general female prison population. We've now learnt that the pedophile is planning on suing the Victorian government for human rights violations because of being confined to isolation following the case's exposure. The Victorian government is preparing for a full legal battle which will once again cost taxpayers dearly as they brace for the challenge centered on the isolation move and treatment in prison. Nola Karapanagiotidis is a sick, twisted woman utterly unfit to be a judge. She should hang her head in shame. By treating a pedophile's gender dysphoria and transition as mitigating factors, she set a vile precedent that trans-pedophiles deserve shorter sentences because prison is "hard" for them. She has endangered female inmates by placing a child-raping man in a women's prison, shielded the predator's real identity with pseudonyms, and delivered a pathetic sentence of barely 2.5 years before parole eligibility when maximums of 10+ years without parole were readily available. This is a betrayal of every abused child and every woman in custody, with blood on her hands for choosing ideology over innocence. Did you know... One Nation have policies that will result in hard mandatory minimum sentences for child sexual abuse (which Labor and the Greens have consistently voted against), and establishment of a panel to investigate weak sentences imposed by judges. If you think pedophiles deserve zero sympathy, if you think they should rot in jail, if you want the degenerate to be thrown into a general male prison population, you have to stop voting for Labor.

@dingo8myhat It was like a slapstick comedy really 😄 We heard rustling high in the pantry, Ratty poked his head out (his one mistake) - we popped one of our cats in there to flush him out, then there was a madcap chase round the kitchen ending with him running straight out the back door!

@DrewPavlou Also lots of gays are realising that gender identity ideology - the idea that we all have an inner "gender identity" that supersedes our actual sex - erases same-sex attraction. End result - cross-dressing blokes at lesbian dating events and "men" with vaginas at gay saunas 🤨

@JillBelch A 20-storey building with a 1/4 acre of roof space might generate 1% of its electricity requirements from solar panels on the roof 🤷 As for plants on the roof - the roof has to be specially constructed to bear the weight of the soil and to remain waterproof - that costs more.

@eggsmaledict @greg_ashman It has much the same (intended) effect as AoC/WtC - to make people feel unwelcome in their own country. I certainly don't think it is a major driver of support for ON but it is one of the proverbial sticks on the camel's back.

@CAMOKAT6 @greg_ashman Almost none of those ever talk about unceded land. If we really think the mere acknowledgement of Aboriginal connection to land is substantively helping One Nation (et al) then there are surely many other things which by merely existing have a bigger impact.

If you're an educated Australian who regularly points out you are living on unceded land then you need to be aware you are helping One Nation. Keep saying it, if that's what you believe is important, but just be aware that it is this kind of cultural stuff that is helping them.

@wrathofgnon It irks me that my mum is barred from cutting down the dangerously large tree in the front yard of her 1960s house due to green canopy rules while her neighbours do knock-down rebuilds and are not required by council to plant any trees at all.
