Unpopular opinion. 🇩🇪 The German native speakers who switch to English the moment they hear your accent is one of the biggest obstacles to achieving fluency – and we don't talk about this enough. Yes, they mean well and believe they're actually helping out. But what they're actually doing is removing the one thing you need most as a learner – the chance to fail, recover, and grow in real time with the language. Every time a German switches to English to spare you the discomfort – they steal a conversation you needed for improvement. And if you wait until you're perfect before speaking, the truth is you may never speak. The learners who constantly experience this start doubting whether their German is even worth trying. It's neither rudeness nor malice. But the kindest thing a native speaker can do for a serious German learner is stay in the language – even when it's uncomfortable. It benefits everyone in the end. Taxi drivers loved the indestructible naturally aspirated diesels like the OM601, 602, 603, 605, and OM606 Excellent seats with reinforced vinyl that never wore out and a heavy duty alternator. Germany, Eastern Europe, the Balkans, airport ranks, and city streets. The people in Albania get a million kilometers out of them and just say the engine broke in. The W124 made sense because it was cheap to run and hard to wear out. The suspension components, indestructible. A W124 taxi in Norway clocked over 3.4 million kilometers. That is what made taxi drivers trust them, because its still a highly durable Mercedes with high quality materials. Survival.

@CATtechPing When my original tm drake could no longer hold air, I just stuffed it. Of course, I still cleaned it and such, but that toy was like that for 2 years before she was taken by my parents and destroyed (they really don't like inflatables)
