📢 PASTORAL LETTER TO THE NATION The Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) has issued a Pastoral Letter to the Nation, calling on all Zimbabweans to safeguard constitutionalism, peace, and national cohesion. Among its key calls, the ZCC urges: • A free, fair, and credible national referendum on Constitutional Amendment Act No. 3. • Respect for the courts and the rule of law. • Peaceful and lawful civic expression. • Inclusive national dialogue that promotes justice, reconciliation, and lasting peace. JUST IN | Police seek information on Madzibaba VeShanduko over alleged undermining of police authority The ZRP is appealing to the public for information on the whereabouts of Godfrey Karemba, popularly known as Madzibaba VeShanduko, in connection with allegations of undermining police authority. In a press statement issued on 22 July 2026, police urged anyone with information that may help locate him to report to the nearest police station. Information can also be reported through the National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631 or via WhatsApp on 0712 800 197. Madzibaba VeShanduko was recently acquitted and released from prison on 3 June 2026 after spending eight months in custody. He had been arrested on charges linked to alleged anti-government mobilisation before the court found him not guilty and ordered his release.




President Mnangagwa has signed into law constitutional amendments to extend his term by 2 years until 2030. The amendments, which also replace direct presidential elections in favour of a vote by parliament, faced widespread resistance but universal support from Zanu PF MPs
