It should be understood that extending President @edmnangagwa’s term until 2030 under the Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 is constitutional and does not constitute a third term. Section 91(2) of the Constitution provides that a full presidential term is three years or more. However, this Bill aims to extend President Mnangagwa’s tenure from 2028 to 2030, which totals only two years. Since that period is less than three years, it is not a third term.
