while compelling, this comparison between mathematics and language is a false equivalence. the two 'behave' differently.
language is just a shared sound assigned to something. Mathematics is more. When Einstein needed an unknown variable to balance his general relativity equation, he just gave it a new sound (Λ - comological constant). In 1929, this element was removed, and then in the 1990s it was added back in.
Our understanding of mathematics tells us 'something' (now called dark energy) MUST exist. But we dont really know what it is, or how it works, and we definitely haven't observed it. Thus, mathematics is not a simple description, but rather the underlying rules, by which things MUST behave. Thus, more foundational.

Imagine a hypothetical intelligent species that is incapable of sensations. They are born, need food and water, reproduce, and die like we do, but none of these provide them with any sensations whatsoever. Let's assume as axiomatic that, despite lacking feelings as motivators, this species nonetheless chooses to exist, have children, and thus exist over time. And during that time they develop a language that is strictly logical. Because they lack any emotions to distract them from consistent logically coherent thinking, they develop a language as perfectly consistent and coherent as our model logics and mathematics. Their language is pure math, and they use it every day. Now, it'd be absolutely absurd to say that, for instance, when they describe a planet revolving around a star, that their descriptions actually supervene on the planet and star themselves, that their descriptions are somehow more "primary" or "real" or "true" than the actual planet and star observed. So then why do so many people think mathematics is anything more than just a language, nothing more and nothing less?

@AppWoodHome They really believe that their food comes from grocery stores so… southern country folk, blacks and whites, can build anything out of nothing. There’s a resurgence building in both communities to bring back old school methods and regenerative agriculture.

I’ve always thought a system tha registers loud noises, perhaps pops over 110 decibels would be a good idea. A gun with a suppressor on it quiets to around that.
So if that’s detected, magnetic locks trigger on all the doors and seal up the school. Also keyed ID entry, zero open doors. If we can’t talk you guys into armed security guards to defend the children, the least we can do do is use modern technology to trigger a containment protocol.

none of us act brutal in real life, or even experience it - until we go on the internet, or open a book about anything that happened over 100 years ago.
I think we live in some of the least brutal of times - and only fear for our stability when reminded of just how bad things could get.
we havent become more brutal, we're just openly discussing lion bearing down on us now.
Will the country bear the stress of the pendulum reversing course, or will something break, and brutality becomes part of our reality lives?
