🚨Another tragic quick fix #mesh surgery story …. “I agreed to surgery to support my prolapse, followed by a second operation the following year to support my bladder and stop the incontinence. But the moment I woke up from the first operation in 2015, everything changed. I was in agony. I remember it was the kind of pain that takes your breath away. I was thinking, "something is very wrong". It felt like my body was screaming. I honestly felt like I was dying. But I was reassured it was “normal after surgery” and told things would “settle down” as I recovered from the operation” 👆 the usual repeated gaslighting spiel used on all #mesh injured patients

The "gatekeeping" of surgery often leaves women in a state of permanent medical limbo—too injured to live normally, but "too complex" for the system to fix And not complex enough to get respectable redress #mesh went catastrophically wrong for the majority of women - no one can say it’s a 10% failure rate because the women were never recalled - imo the failure rate is significantly higher

A surgical mesh implant made out of polyester is now broken up inside me & spread around causing scar tissue to surround it. At least while asleep I am in my happy place, doing the things I loved, going to places I have never been. Then I have to wake up to reality again. 😢 D.

The use of #PP #mesh for #pelvic #organ #prolapse #POP & #stress #urinary #incontinence #SUI was reckless surgery due to no knowledge of long term #pain & long term ill health = tens of thousands of #women have completely lost their #QOL AND they are physically disabled This is a #medical #scandal of far worse proportions than has been previously mentioned & there should be a #PUBLICINQUIRY as with the #postofficescandal proceeding to surgery without consent caused life long unnecessary pain and injury and should be regarded as assault …..
