Great things are still happening at @danflongms! Students with 0 tardies for the first 9 weeks were rewarded with popsicles! There were 143 scholars who earned this achievement!

Tonight was Parent Orientation Night and according to some parents, my kids MADE them come. 😍 I am so happy a lot of them made it because it's the best time to explain why I am how I am and that we're in this together. Props to the photographer, our amazing @CFBDavisAP ❤️

I had a student who accidentally spilled food from his thermos all over the floor in my classroom. I immediately went to grab paper towels and cleaning supplies. The student said, “Oh but Ms. K you should call the custodian. That’s not our job.” I stopped for a moment and smiled. I said to him, “When you are part of a school community it’s everyone’s job to help out when needed. We can all lend a helping hand and we should.” He got up and grabbed some paper towels and began to help me with the clean up. It was absolutely awesome! #StarfishClub #X

I’m inspired by the vulnerability. As a leader, it can be difficult to express anything other than “having it all together” without fear of judgment or loss of respect from teachers and fellow leaders. Knowing we’re not alone makes the difficult days a bit easier. TY♥️

This is the face of someone who is battling with high-functioning depression/anxiety. You definitely wouldn’t know it, and I never even heard of until a few months ago (thanks to therapy), because how can I be depressed when I am so productive and have such an amazing life?!
