Behind polished #governance reports often lies “malicious compliance” - employees doing exactly what they’re told, while silently disengaging from bad decisions. Jene’ Palmer nails this hidden cultural debt. A must-read for boards and executives. tinyurl.com/55dwsn4w

@TruthReportNews @RobertHersov @IRR_SouthAfrica Agreed, the "rules of the game" can, and must be changed. The governance maturity of an organisation can be measured in real-time, and made transparent for leaders to see precisely, where change is required. Let's save SA with this capability!

@AfricanMarvin @studiophotograp When good governance fails, "normal" flies out the window. Dysfunction is the "new normal" in South Africa. Massive doses of sunlight are required to shine on SA's corruption. Perpetrators must be held accountable, where prosecutions become normal standards and expectations.

We cannot continue living like this 🇿🇦 Panic buttons. Armed response. Our sisters can’t jog safely in the evenings. Expensive insurance because of crime. High walls and electric fences. Heavy security levies. This is not normal.

When I just moved to the US from South Africa and finally bought my very first proper big TV, I felt like such a big deal, you know? Like I was officially adulting in the land of the free. So there I am in the store, heart racing with excitement, and I turn to the salesman with this big warm smile and casually blurt out bravely, “Hey buddy, what’s the annual cost for a TV license here these days?” Oh man, the poor guy just stopped. Like full system freeze. He looked at me like I’d suddenly sprouted a second head and maybe a tail too. “TV what now?” he stammered. Then his colleague wandered over, both of them staring at me with these blank, confused faces like I’d asked for directions to the moon. It got real awkward real fast. I could feel my cheeks heating up but I pushed on anyway, thinking the accent thing is the problem. I explained the whole thing, rambling a bit because they seemed so lost. It had to be the accent thing. I spoke slowly and explained that back in South Africa, you have to pay the SABC license on top of cable, Netflix, Disney+, all of it, just to legally switch the damn thing on without worrying about some fine or knock on the door. Their jaws literally hit the floor. One of them goes, “You mean the government makes you pay extra? Just to watch TV?” And the other one is nodding slowly like he’s processing a war crime confession. Cue me standing there nodding back enthusiastically like it’s the most normal everyday thing in the world, right? Super awkward energy all around. They thought I was straight-up pranking them. One even whispered to the other, “Is this a thing in other countries? Is she serious?” Meanwhile I’m over here in my head connecting all the dots; America’s big conspiracy isn’t Big Brother watching us through the screen. Nah, they’ve tricked everyone into thinking we’re so FREE by hiding that sneaky license fee so deep that nobody even knows it exists! Genius-level psy-op, deep state overlords. You almost had this wide-eyed immigrant fooled! 😂 Fellow survivors from TV-license countries, did the Americans give you that same cult-escapee stare when you dropped this bomb on them?

How is this justified? South Africa, when will you wake up from your deep slumber? Opaque #governance is costing taxpayers an arm and leg - it's also not holding leaders accountable. #Eskom @AuditorGen_SA @BLSA_Official @VusiThembekwayo @LeratoPillayZA @Mathews_Phosa

Whether this event is true or not, what it depicts is the effect of people making up their own rules. When the rule of law is disregarded, expect massive dysfunction, disinvestment, and erosion of life quality & standards. Failed #governance threatens law, order, and democracy.

🚨 SHOCKING VIDEO: ARMED THUGS HIJACK SOUTH AFRICAN ROADS WITH MAKESHIFT TOLL GATES – PAY R50 OR GO🔥 THIS IS NOT HUSTLE, THIS IS PURE EXTORTION AND SA IS COLLAPSING LIVE ON CAMERA‼️ 🇿🇦 North of Pretoria, I’m just trying to drive my bakkie down a dusty track when I roll straight into a full-blown ambush‼️ Not cops or roadworks. A mob of 15+ lowlifes has completely blocked the road with logs and rocks. One thug is swinging a thick branch like a weapon, a yellow-vest clown is strutting around like he owns the bush, two black SUVs are idling ready for trouble and a cocky teenager on the embankment flips me the bird, grins like a psychopath and points straight at my windscreen. “R50 to pass,” the leader barks at my window. No uniform, badge or shame, just the smug entitlement of someone who’s been running this scam for weeks‼️ “Road maintenance,” he lies through his teeth. The whole gang tightens up, branch scraping the sand like a death line. Pay up or we make this personal. No police or backup in sight. Just empty veld and my blood boiling over. I shoved the fifty rand at him like it burned my hand🔥 He didn’t even thank me, just flicked his wrist and the “gate” opened. In the rear-view I watched them reset the logs, already licking their lips for the next victim. This is the new South Africa. Rural roads, township routes, game reserve edges, all turning into open-air cash machines run by thugs who graduated from begging at robots to straight-up armed extortion in broad daylight🔥 Call it “African entrepreneurship” if you’re a spineless apologist. I call it highway robbery by the untouchables‼️ We are a country drowning in record farm murders by illegal foreigners, cash-in-transit heists, total lawlessness and now this💥 The government has abandoned its own people. Borders wide open, police are too stretched, too weak or too corrupt to stop it. The vacuum is being filled by these dirt-road gangsters who know exactly how weak we’ve become🔥 We used to mock Venezuela and Nigeria for this kind of anarchy. Now it’s here🔥 One R50 at a time. One blocked road at a time. Until every route in the country is taxed by whoever’s holding the biggest stick. South Africa isn’t a complete hellhole yet but pieces of it are rotting faster than anyone wants to admit ‼️‼️‼️🔥

Citizens in SA are exposed to heinous crime daily - it's a result of #governance failure starting at the top. Criminal networks are intricate - their brazen deeds are fuelled by low criminal prosecutions. Unsuspecting tourists are an easy target. FDI negatively impacted!

@LeratoPillayZA @MLANDO60870174 For SA to turn the tables on corruption and those perceived to be linked to misdeeds, it needs to place serious remedial action on the country's failed governance. #MadlangaCommission is a start, but it's evident this needs to be amplified to expose criminals at the top.

Phala Phala Scandal: New Claims Allege Buffalo Deal Was Fabricated Johannesburg – Fresh allegations have emerged accusing Sudanese businessman Mustafa Hazim of lying about purchasing buffalo from President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm.Critics claim Hazim never bought any buffalo from Ramaphosa, and that the foreign currency stolen in the 2020 farm burglary originated from Zimbabwe – with the amount exceeding the $580,000 officially declared. Ramaphosa has maintained the cash came from a legitimate $580,000 buffalo sale to Hazim on 25 December 2019. However, new claims insist the transaction was fictitious, the animals were never transferred, and the true sum stolen was significantly higher. The controversy, which has triggered multiple investigations, continues to raise questions about foreign currency handling and transparency. The Presidency has not yet responded to the latest allegations.

@barrybateman Plundering the nation continues unabated - good governance ignored. What about the state organisations supposedly compliant with the King V(TM) Code of Governance? Where are the Regulators? Lipservice to ethical leadership continues - the nation pays the price!
Barry Bateman@barrybateman

Once again, evidence of the rank incompetence that permeates this government at every level. People with no skills or expertise put into positions of authority. Nothing works. The same people want to manage NHI. Every thinking person knows how it will end.

Unsurprisingly, no code of governance -- nor code of conduct, or conflict interest reporting -- is stopping this wide scale looting in South Africa's state-owned organisations! When will the regulators enforce digitised governance reporting to stop opaque #governance?

Eskom has issued a firm notice: it will reduce, interrupt or terminate electricity supply to key Johannesburg bulk points as City Power and CoJ arrears hit R5.2 billion. Enough is enough. How did we, as a society, allow a major metro like Johannesburg to operate with such disregard for accountability? It is a betrayal of the citizens we serve and the future we’re fighting to build. We must demand better. Integrity and responsibility cannot be optional in our cities. Time to fix this. 🇿🇦 #AccountabilityNow
