@jmspool Sometimes the distance between good and perfect is the ”good” company goes out of business because customers choose the excellent one. Also, a good enough product may have massively larger development costs because of all the ”good enoughs” just don’t make a scalable system.

What are your favorite product design interview questions (phone screen or on-site) that give a good signal about the candidate's abilities/interests/curiosity?

@Tweet_Dec Got COVID October last year - sense of smell and taste about 95% returned after 6 months. Few things are still weird/overpowering: garlic and onions we have to cook sparingly with or blanche.

@andybudd Such an interesting tension - perhaps borne out of UX being the meeting of two strong groups of impulses: observe, understand, and report vs create, model and experiment - but can be frustrating to see such dogmatic approaches to learning being promulgated through UX 'schools'.

@andybudd This really resonates. Certain narratives in the UX/product field would have you believe the only way to a successful product is through deep reseach - to the point where certain designers appear almost paralysed by fear of jumping to modelling too soon.

A user journey based on research is better than a user journey not based on research. However a user journey not based on research is probably still better than a set of entrenched but hidden beliefs locked inside execs heads.

@andybudd Whereas, like you say, modelling is a means to new learning, creation is an act of understanding etc.

@round But it never has been a single sense of methods or practices - it's always been an artificial hodgepodge of behavioural psychology, visual sensemaking and interface design, with different orgs and actors stressing different elements of the practice dependent on their context.

“UX is now far too big to be considered a single community or even a single set of methods or practices. Now it can mean anything, or nothing at all. UX now means whatever organizations choose it to mean, for better or worse.” fastcompany.com/90642462/i-hel…

@BBC_HaveYourSay Why are you promulgating the story that WSB are now attempting to take on HFs with silver? Have your reporters even looked at that subreddit? Literally no one is championing silver. Thinly veiled attempt to manipulate investors and cover their GME losses.

@andybudd If biannual is twice a year and biennial is every two years, ergo: bi-weekly is twice a week and bie-weeklial is every two weeks? 🙈

@NatWest_Help Sure, if you log in via the mobile app, follow the 'manage my mortgage' journey, scroll to the bottom of the page where it says 'call'. You get taken to a page that lists the opening times for new and existing customers with times that say open until 8pm.

@CHHarding Hi Charlie, thanks for letting us know about this today. Just so we can look into getting the details updated if they're incorrect, please could you tell us where it says the Mortgage Team are available until 8pm? Feel free to PM if you prefer- Jordan

@sanjaypoyzer Some will argue it's a 'phase' in which the designer seeks to understand the problem space and define working hypotheses. Others will contend that it's a continuous process in which something is made, tested and then remade throughout the product or service lifecycle.

@MiroHQ @AdobeUK @figmadesign I'd like to let you folks at @MiroHQ know that despite my grumpy tweet above, I've just facilitated a design sprint entirely in your product and I have three words: never going back 😍
