Caritas Fort Portal🌎gets rewarded for giving to Caesar what belongs to Caesar... In the quaint Tourism city of Fort Portal, Rev. Fr. Joseph Musana has championed the work of DSSD CARITAS FORTPORTAL LTD in transforming the lives of Ugandans in over 9 districts across the Mid- West and beyond. With a contribution of over UGX 550 million revenue in the last three years, the Ag. Station Head for Fort Portal- Simon Peter Murungi has lauded the Caritas team for being consistent in filing and paying its Pay as You Earn (PAYE) and Withholding Tax on time. During the taxpayer visit to the Church-based NGO, the Asst. Commissioner, Enterprise Risk Management- Matthew Mugabi reiterated URA’s appreciation to Caritas, Fort Portal. “On behalf of the Commissioner General of URA- John R. Musinguzi we as URA extend our sincere gratitude to Caritas Fort Portal and the entire Catholic church for being compliant taxpayers. We celebrate you!” The Executive Director of Caritas Fort Portal- Fr. Musana owed the clockwork compliance to the organization’s seasoned Finance Controller, Christopher Mujwisa who in turn attributed their compliance to their great working relationship with URA. “Our relationship with URA is so far so good. URA has always been supportive for instance when we apply for TCCs, they are quick to support and this helps us during our bidding processes. The returns filing reminder messages and calls also come in handy.” Mugabi further pledged URA’s support in handholding the Church in all its tax affairs and invited them to partner on different tax education initiatives. Fr. Musana welcomed this collaboration saying, “we are happy to be visited by URA, and look forward to a collaboration in our future engagements not only as Caritas Fort Portal but as Caritas Uganda at large.” #TPAS24 #FfeBanno
