I have had radiation for my cancer in January, monthly visits with my oncologist. AND a monthly shot for my cancer treatment. I had foot surgery 7 weeks ago…NOW CIGNA IS SAYING I HAVE ONLY PAID $2200 TOWARDS MY DEDUCTIBLE! WTF????? HEALTH INSURANCE IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@mcuban Cigna denied my knee surgery the day before my appointment. I had an MRI showing a torn meniscus and a cyst. Some doctor across the country in California that Cigna uses said 6 months of physical therapy costing me thousands of dollars extra was needed first.

Unfortunately one of the great lies of US HC. Ask anyone with a serious illness that has been denied care by an insurance company that subcontracted out the denial process to a company owned by overseas private equity firms. Or how about this one. The heart transplant got approved. But the rejection meds were not. You can’t get care if you cant afford it or if your insurance company denies it. Which is just as bad as your government limiting it for budget reasons. Same issue. Different budget Anyone else got stories like these ?

@Cigna The True Metrix BGM was just recalled by the FDA for being HIGHLY inaccurate and it is in your formulary. Please remove it and bring back the Contour Next One as an option. It is the most accurate BGM on the market. Do the right thing for your customers.

Last week I randomly got a $9,000 bill for a hospital visit from last year. I called them up and they said my insurance decided not to cover it. Why? Because. .@Aetna can just decide they’re not interested in covering something and then you’re left with an inflated bill to pay out of pocket after the fact. This is in addition to a $2,000 bill that I already paid. They just don’t want to cover it despite me paying a monthly premium. Meanwhile illegals get free healthcare. Honestly fuck you @Aetna. I’m gonna do everything I can to destroy you.

I received an “estimate” for an upcoming visit from @nyphospital that @cigna would not cover my upcoming pap smear if ordered. Cost as a self pay - $1100! According the Medicare reimbursement- it’s a $35 test I’m being charged $1000. I called billing and NO ONE has called me back. This is not just an insurance problem- we have unethical hospital billing.

It's not just Aetna — Cigna is doing the SAME thing. Dropping my medical providers across not one, but TWO towns. I've paid into this system for years and now I can't access the doctors I depend on without getting hit with outrageous out-of-pocket costs. This isn't a one-off. This is a pattern.
