Two surgery center employees just got federally indicted for assaulting ICE officers to protect an illegal alien!! Jose de Jesus Ortega, 38, of Highland, and Danielle Nadine Davila, 33, of Corona, face felony charges of assaulting, resisting, and impeding a federal officer, along with conspiracy. The incident happened at the Ontario Advanced Surgical Center in Ontario, California. ICE agents followed a truck into the parking lot during an enforcement operation. A Honduran national who was neither a patient nor an employee of the center fled on foot into the building to avoid arrest. According to court documents, Ortega and Davila, both wearing medical scrubs, intervened. They pulled the suspect away from an agent, grabbed an officer’s arm and vest, positioned themselves between the agent and the suspect while yelling at officers to leave, locked doors, and blocked law enforcement vehicles. Ortega was taken into custody. Davila was initially sought as a fugitive. The Honduran national was ultimately arrested by ICE. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California is prosecuting the case. Medical staff do not get to decide which laws get enforced. #ICE #California
