As someone who was taught to deny the Holocaust, there are many things I can say about visiting Auschwitz for the first time ever: the tears I shed, the guilt I felt, the sadness that clouded my brain and soul every second being in this cursed town.
But the most special moment for me was running into Natalie, who survived October 7.
It reminded me that no matter how the atrocities Jews face, they always come out survivors and builders.
Stronger than ever.
Wiser than ever.
More resilient than ever.
And more than that, they continue to be pioneers in science, technology, human rights, art, music, and everything that makes this world worth-living.
Big thank you to @sharakango for bringing me to Auschwitz and opening my eyes, yet again.
