Under 18 U.S.C. § 209, federal employees may only be paid by the U.S. government for official duties to prevent conflicts of interest and divided loyalties. Just imagine if a wealthy individual from say China wanted to pay federal employees would you all be okay with that? It is illegal for a wealthy individual or company to pay federal employees in order for them to perform their jobs.

Elon Musk offered to pay all 60,000 TSA employees to keep airports open, which would cost him around $10 million per day. 🤯
