@TaxiManTips Allowing a wheelchair user to travel safely when they wish to is a ‘moot point’? 🤦🏻♂️ Maybe go and have a look at the Equality Act.
English

@CabdirectLondon It does matter how many because it’s a moot point. You’re clutching at straws trying to justify dropping two of our licensing conditions for vehicles for this awful looking van convert
English

I’d love to reply in comments but your trade org leader has blocked me for having a different opinion to him 🙄
And how many those are you picking up on a yearly basis?
Also no wheelchair users insist on using the harnesses they’re quite happy to put the brake on and go

@TaxiManTips @TootlestheTaxi @michaelblackcab @The_LCDC @coltscabs @Sammyscarf What about disabled passengers with larger wheelchairs which can’t be turned and safely secured in a TX? Do they not have the right to choose a vehicle that better suits their needs?

English

@TootlestheTaxi @CabdirectLondon @michaelblackcab @The_LCDC @coltscabs @Sammyscarf I can’t imagine any of our passengers given the clear 50/50 choice between a txe and a Vito and choosing the Vito only in the situation where they have an excess of luggage so it becomes necessity not choice. If we litter our fleet with vans people won’t choose us

The drivers are asking for a choice of vehicle #CHANGE
English

@BondCabdriver The vehicle comes with a full size spare wheel. As for the length, this isn’t a problem for any other city where there hasn’t been the same dramatic drop in taxis as there has been in London. Surely the extra 7k taxis that used to be on the road would have taken up more space?!
English

And the vehicle length & lack of a road ready spare, anything else you want overturned?
Net loss of rank spaces, some ranks such as CX inaccessible.
It isn’t anyone else’s problem you cannot engineer a TC that’s compliant.
No vehicle should be passed that is already used as PH.

@michaelblackcab @The_LCDC @coltscabs @Sammyscarf @TootlestheTaxi What’s the problem with allowing drivers to make a choice on whether they require a vehicle with an 8.535m turning circle? We’re not saying ban the turning circle; we’re just saying make it a choice.
English

@320_runs @TootlestheTaxi @The_LCDC @coltscabs @GaryLong1661 @Sammyscarf @taxi_leaks ‘Vital for London’ - yet many Vito Taxis safely and successfully operate without using the rear steer system and therefore without the 8.535m turning circle.
English

@TootlestheTaxi @The_LCDC @CabdirectLondon @coltscabs @GaryLong1661 @Sammyscarf @taxi_leaks Ford is not cheaper.
The £64k has 30mike range and no turning circle which is vital for London.
Ford will degrade our status to that of man with van like in other cities.
Capping PH best option. Otherwise no way out.

@The_LCDC @CabdirectLondon @coltscabs @Sammyscarf @TootlestheTaxi I’d certainly like a choice, personally I’m good enough to manoeuvre a vehicle legally, safely & considerately with or without the TC, I appreciate there’s drivers that can’t though & need the TC so can’t see a choice of vehicle any time soon
English

@CabdirectLondon hybrid 34miles i think even tfl say has to be 35miles.could be wrong,wet belt,Nissan windows,no tc,
English

When both vehicles are running on petrol, the 2.5l engine in the PHEV MAXiCab is less harmful to the environment than the 1.5l range extender engine in the LEVC TX.
#ChooseChoice 🌱

English

@CabdirectLondon Wet belt engine pile of crap fully electric only worth getting

@The_LCDC @CabdirectLondon @coltscabs @Sammyscarf @TootlestheTaxi So 300 drivers at the airport who drive up & down the M4 give “informed” advice about steering necessity to the other 14,000+ drivers who work in town ?
Let your members vote Grant !
If they say yes then fight for them 👍🏼
English

@The_LCDC @coltscabs @CabdirectLondon It’s a Ford anyone in there right mind wouldn’t touch a Ford ….
English

@lukebasford1 @The_LCDC @coltscabs @GaryLong1661 @Sammyscarf @TootlestheTaxi @taxi_leaks That’s fair enough, but shouldn’t someone else who’s happy with the look of an alternative taxi, who doesnt feel the need to have the turning circle, be free to make this choice?
English

@lukebasford1 @The_LCDC @coltscabs @GaryLong1661 @Sammyscarf @TootlestheTaxi @taxi_leaks The Vito Taxis manage to get by without using rear steer. 🤷🏻
English

@CabbieLondon @KingArtAT @The_LCDC @coltscabs @GaryLong1661 @Sammyscarf @TootlestheTaxi @taxi_leaks No, and have never claimed to. We think the 8.535m turning circle should be optional, as it is in all other major cities.
English

@KingArtAT @The_LCDC @CabdirectLondon @coltscabs @GaryLong1661 @Sammyscarf @TootlestheTaxi @taxi_leaks So you have a taxi with the required turning circle then?
English

@TaxiManTips @The_LCDC @coltscabs @GaryLong1661 @Sammyscarf @TootlestheTaxi @taxi_leaks There are far more Vito/V-Class PHVs than there are Ford Tourneo Custom. Pretty sure this hasn’t been an issue for Vito Taxi drivers.
English

@The_LCDC @CabdirectLondon @coltscabs @GaryLong1661 @Sammyscarf @TootlestheTaxi @taxi_leaks So from a passenger perspective they can either use this “cab” and pay our meter OR use this same van in a private hire method and pay their prices….
What passengers would choose to pay more to use us when it’s the same vehicle especially from the airport driving the same route
English

@CabdirectLondon What’s the point exactly? When it’s not TfL approved or likely to be?.
English

@CabdirectLondon You could have a Ferrari and Lamborghini and even a F1 car there, they would also be lots of interest, but as things stand, this vehicle isn’t suitable for a London taxi, so don’t see the point.
