It’s less about how the average fan is doing financially and more about the engagement of the top tier outliers in each state. IMO, if your household income is less than ~$150k you should not be donating to a sports team. Focus on your family. It’s not an 80/20 issue. It’s 1/99 issue. 1% of people are going to drive 99% of the contributions. It’s likely even less than 1%.

@ArkansasQuant Coming from an Arkansas Grad: Paying ~$42k over 4 years to get a degree that has a 10-year median pay of $58k is one of the worst trades you could make. Just plain awful investment.

Arkansas’ alumni median income is less than 9% off from top 8 in SEC, and is ~15% higher than Ole Miss’. Arkansas’ donations as % of athletic department revenue is higher than Georgia, A&M, Kentucky, and South Carolina and just a smidgen behind LSU, Auburn, Alabama, and Florida.

New: Took a look at FY 2025 donation totals in the SEC, for football and across all sports A few notes - Overall contributions are up over last year, but football-specific donations are down a bit - Texas donors have got it - big increase at Tennessee al.com/alabamafootbal…

The confounding factor is that virtually every big company is overstaffed by 2-4x and has been for decades. AI is the catalyst/excuse to finally fix that. Of course nobody wants to say this out loud.
rohit@krishnanrohit

One bearish sign of all the AI layoffs is that the companies couldn't figure out how to produce even more by keeping the people and adding AI. I'm not entirely sure how to think about this.

Correct. But only one partnership (Waymo) has any scale and they’re doing most of their rides on their own app. They have to further that relationship or speed up other partners. The human behind the wheel driving you 3 miles for $30 when you can pay $15 with LYFT won’t last long. People will catch on. That pricing power has fueled the recent financial performance, not autonomous rides. It needs to be the other way around

@CadeCarlisle @Mindset4Money_X But they do have a lot of partnerships with autonomous drive companies though. Uber is the platform, they have the scale and network to benefit from autonomous rides.

The narrative is that young men have become radicalized. When really, it’s the young women who have become radicalized. By a MASSIVE margin.

Give me a break. What a tough life! You get access to hundreds of millions of dollars in produced content for $19/month. Access to infinite information for a few hundred dollars on a phone that will last 4 years and a $50/month WiFi bill. God forbid you have to actually manage the device that puts the world at your fingertips.

Search is full of ads and wrong answers. Every other email is an ad. Prime Video charges you and shows ads. Paramount? Ads. Peacock? YouTube? Hulu? Ads followed by more ads. Netflix full of ads. Meta and X, every other thing is an ad. Pinterest is nothing but ads. AI is in everything. AI finishes sentences incorrectly and won’t stop. AI reads your email and search history to target you with more ads. Every time you open an app or visit a site there’s an update making it worse. In a hurry? First, click here to agree to terms you don’t have time to read and must accept. You need an account to do that. Change your temporary password. Enter your 2FA code. Check your email and enter that code. Now use a passkey. Your password is too simple to remember. Change it. No, not like that. Now log on. Enter your 2FA code. Check your email for a code… Welcome back! We’ve updated our terms of service and privacy policy (you have none). Subscribe to the site. Subscribe to Netflix. Subscribe to toilet paper. Subscribe to these groceries. Pay a membership fee for the right to subscribe then tip your driver who delivers the subscriptions your membership lets you subscribe to. Time to work? We’ve got to update your laptop and will slow down everything you do until you agree to update. But first, click here to agree. Update installed — your laptop’s broken now. It doesn’t matter, since your boss just replaced you with AI. Go to your phone to complain on social media. Wait, your phone needs an update so we can add more AI. Click here. Oh sorry, your phone can’t handle this update. Now it’s useless. Go get the newest phone. Here’s a text from a friend, an email, a voice mail they left three days ago but you didn’t see until now because of sync problems with the cloud. It’s their GoFundMe. Their MLM. Their Patreon. Never mind, you didn’t respond to their text within 9 minutes and now you’re no longer friends. They blocked you. Make new friends. Download this app to find people in your area. In your neighborhood. On your street. Two doors down from you. Do you know this person yet, we think you’d get along. You need an account to use this app. That username is taken. Enter a password. Not that one, you used it on another site. You need to be connected to WiFi to download the app. Allow the app to connect to other devices on your network. Allow the app to access your contacts, know your precise location, store your credit card details. Oops, sorry, we got hacked now all that info is available on the web. There’s a class action suit. You can join. It’ll take a decade to get your $3.73 share of the ten billion settlement. We’ll send it via PayPal or deposit it to your bank, just tell us those details. Oh no, another hack. That info is circulating now, too. Here’s a spam call, a spam email, a spam text. Why are you angry? Why are you talking about getting rid of your phone? Why don’t you like AI, it lets us make all of this easier? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? This is progress. You’ll be left behind. Do you want to be left behind? Do you???

The $GOOG numbers were absolutely MIND-BLOWING. Revenue +22%. Cloud +63% (WTF???) up from +48% in Q4, with record margin at 33% despite huge capex. Search accelerated yet again to +19%. The opposite of dead! Total Op margin at 36.1% (+200bps) = staying lean! Just STUNNING. 🤯

@hirschibar @MrBeast The reason to press blue is, that if the vote were to turn out red, you’d have to live solely amongst self interested people for the rest of your life because everyone righteous is dead. I’d rather die

You survive either way if you press red, while you may not if you press blue. Everyone should rationally press red and everyone should survive. The way the question is presented makes people feel like blue is the moral choice while red is greedy, but everyone should obviously press red and have everyone survive. No reason to press blue

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.
