@TMFScottP @hazard3511 This is only true if you care more about Australia's reputation for lower emissions, than actually lowering global emissions though.

God this is frustrating. It's absolutely true, of course. That doesn't mean: 1. We don't have a problem; and 2. We shouldn't reduce population growth as a result. It's just misdirection.
Australia Institute@TheAusInstitute

The idea that mass immigration is to blame for the housing crisis doesn't stack up when you look at the data. Over the past 20 years the amount of housing in Australia has actually increased faster than the population has grown! 📈 #auspol

@TMFScottP @hazard3511 I mean, people don't magically spawn into existence when they immigrate to Australia, and the issue is global emissions.

@MelbOnTransit This really reinforces my view that we need better rules/enforcement around these bikes and scooters nationally. So many of the issues come from doggy batteries etc. But it will be the people with legit products who pay the price.

What are the "best" renewable energy myths you've heard recently? I'm on my way to a Renewables in Agriculture conference, I'll be on a panel "Fact vs Fiction: Setting the record straight on renewable energy" I'm keen to have some good myths to share! renewablesinagconference.com.au

@TMFScottP @Austriker3 I agree. I think the best thing we can do is rethink learning to make sure students are still challenged and need to think. Which is not always happening yet.

@IonaItalia "Surprisingly, most Melbourne residents weren’t feeling up to defending their city in the comment section." ...Melbourne's that bad, isn't it?

@HPluckrose Also, isn't Brodie Sangster kinda famous for looking younger than he is. He is not typical. In fact, it was probably a big reason for his success - being about to play younger roles while having more maturity/experience.

@mr_james_c Well, I guess I can't speak to that, but certainly where I am, I much prefer what they do with the newer rail than older archways.

IMO one of the reason normies are often NIMBYs is that the last 60 years of centrally planned public development, from council housing to railway stations, has taught them to be that way. Inevitably architecture is ugly, driven either by soulless bureaucrats or turtlenecked architects.
Liberite 🇬🇧 🇪🇺@brownliberite

If HS2 North or HS3 actually happens, viaducts should be in brick and then NIMBYs won’t protest
