Pro-pollution Trump and his lackeys in Washington continue to unwind science-based policies. California remains committed to climate action because people and the environment deserve better.

Governor Gavin Newsom@CAgovernor

California is suing the Trump Administration for wrongfully repealing the foundation of all federal regulation of climate pollution. The EPA is duty-bound under the Clean Air Act to protect public health and welfare from air pollutants, including greenhouse gases.

Extreme heat is on the way across parts of California . The map shown here uses CalHeatScore, a new statewide tool that ranks heat risk in every ZIP code from 0 (low) to 4 (severe) based on weather forecasts and historical health impacts. Higher scores mean a greater chance of heat-related illness, especially for older adults, children, outdoor workers, and people without reliable cooling. Use the tool to check the heat risk in your community and find local resources such as cooling centers: 👉 calheatscore.calepa.ca.gov Heat safety tips • Hydrate often and avoid strenuous activity during peak heat • Check on neighbors, older adults, and pets • Take breaks in air-conditioned spaces or cooling centers • Never leave children or pets in vehicles Extreme heat is one of the most dangerous weather hazards in California. Stay informed and take steps now to protect yourself and your community. #HeatSafety #CalHeatScore #PublicSafety #California @OEHHA

This week’s extreme heat reminds us why CA continues to lead in preparing for a changing climate. Tools like CalHeatScore help Californians understand health risks & to look out for one another by preparing for & staying safe during dangerously hot weather.
OEHHA@OEHHA

With record-breaking heat expected across parts of California, it's a good time to start using CalHeatScore ➡️ calheatscore.calepa.ca.gov It gives you simple, real-time heat rankings for your neighborhood. It’s a heat safety tool you can keep checking all year as conditions change.

What good are California's clean air goals if CA relies so much on oil and gas from other countries and shipped by boats that pollute air? CARB Chair Lauren Sanchez: It's something we give a lot of thought to... 18 million Californians still breathe unhealthy air every year.
