@proxytag A DPS meter is fine TBH. Think the ranking system we can do without but what the hell do I know/care about. I play the funny anime cat girl and potato game not to spreadsheet min/max :)

@CallousPasta This isn’t entirely relevant but I do think dps meters can be useful in savage and above content because I was in a m10s, hit enrage at 19% and thought “huh that’s high”. Black mage doing less damage than me on sage. That felt bad to see.

Great now I cant even do alliance raids in the crystal tower without worrying about some ultra minmaxxer calling my 15 day old account out because I didnt perfectly time my buffs

@ShinonSoda @Brendzun Gauging your own output is fine if improvement is the endgame. I'd wager (and this comes from seeing it firsthand in most groups/pfs I've been in) more than 60% of people using fflogs want to stroke their gamer dick as opposed to actually working on skill.

I think there’s some confusion by people who are not content creators about the discussion creators are having regarding the FFXIV Terms of Service, their extent, and their enforcement lately. Sure blah blah “bald man bad and banned” is what many people are focusing on, but for the rest of us who make FFXIV content there’s a lot of murmurs and questions being asked. The part of the terms of service that were enforced has very broad reaching implications. For example, did you know that hypothetically if you sing Yoshi P’s bleeped F bomb in “Not Afraid” (the M7S theme) while doing the raid on stream and people report you, it falls under ToS and can lead to a 3 day ban? We’re engaging in discourse about best practices regarding creating content for a game that we all love. We’re talking about what the ToS means instead of what the words say. We’re talking about the extent to which that contract between player and publisher reaches, the practical impact it has on creators having to take care in saying or reading words, and the intent that is expressed not only in creating that content, but the intent of those who would seek to weaponize those terms against *any* creator for any reason. Sure, there’s gonna be memes, there’s gonna be chatter, there’s even a culture war that random angry people who may or may not play the game are engaging in. “Just be professional” is easy to say, but every professional’s content has it’s moments. People who witch hunt creators aren’t the boogeyman, they’re out there, and it leaves a lot of us wondering… what does this mean for us?

ok soooo, the fact that this was done on twitch streams when square enix gives zero context on shit is insanely fucking stupid and now puts ALL CONTENT CREATORS in danger, because now they will go out of their way to ban people for anything, yeah explain to me why square deserves any money considering they've set a stance on this? legit, how in the fuck are people suppose to stream the game now since this is now the standard and they can enact on "TOS violations" when outside of copyright for specific songs, there's no TOS updates on this shit
