@jesuiscinque @KirkWrites79 Greatness is different from best. Bale has played numerous very different characters incredibly well. I’d say Denzel or DiCaprio are greater actors than he but bale is a better actor.

I saw a comment saying Denzel has limited range and this is why its difficult to discuss acting with people who have no understanding of technique. People get Best acting confused with Most acting.

Slavery was legal. People who freed slaves were criminals. Segregation was legal. People who stood up for equality were criminals. I heard this story once about a teacher who took a fish out of its bowl and left a classroom of children as it flopped around.. telling them that if anyone left their seat, they would be expelled. All of the children sat and watched as this fish flopped gasping for air, not wanting to get up in order to avoid getting in trouble. Finally, a girl sprang up from her seat and ran to the fish, placing it back in the bowl. Ultimately, she was the only one who refused to watch the fish die. When the teacher returned he told the class that this was a lesson. That the fear of getting in trouble should never stop you from doing what's right. That sometimes.. you may have to oppose authority and group think, simply because it's the right thing to do. Never use legality as a guide to morality.

I'm learning today how many men don't know what a "great man of history" is. They think Neil Armstrong qualifies. "Great man," historically, doesn't mean role model or hero. It doesn't mean "man we think is pretty great." Trump is much closer to a great man of history

The guts of Ryan Coogler to write and pitch a Rocky movie to Stallone at 28 years old and then get it made and have it be an immediate all timer is something I think about a ton. Guy is really, really special

Sinners is quite literally one of if not THEE best picture of this generation. Decades from now Sinners will be talked about and passed down in ways others movies could only wish to be.

@TevonBlair @LuzMiz9 No memorable lines in the already forgotten "One Battle" uncomfortably strange kinda racist movie. But "SINNERS" is a cultural phenomenon that millions of us will repeat key lines and scenes for decades. Should have also won best song, director and picture.

This not even about ‘Sinners’ but ‘Best Picture of the Year’ for a movie that centered a racist white man who impregnated a Black woman then went above and beyond to TERRORIZE HIS BIRACIAL CHILD so he could join a whites only club. 😭😭😭 #Oscars is laughable.
