I'll admit that I was surprised to see the New Day get released, albeit by their own choosing instead of taking lower deals. But the outrage is weird. This seems like the best thing for them. They haven't been part of a hot feud in years. Their heel turn was awesome, but the creative for them after that totally sucked. And now they have a chance to be part of the biggest tag feud in years with the Bucks. Seems like a win-win

@randylahey2000 @RealMissyHyatt Yeah but the public discourse would be that they are "holding them hostage" and won't let them build on their name while they can. At the end of the day it's a contract and if the talent has the leverage to make the company agree to a guaranteed contract like that they should.

My point is if you sign a multi year contract for x amount of $$$. You should be paid the duration of the contract. Unless fired for disciplinary reasons My contract in wcw was guaranteed. I made the same $$ in fall of 1989 when i waa sitting home. It was originally a 2 year contract that was later renegotiated & extended. Signing for x amount and for guaranteed years, with wwe having windows to get release talent is unfair. I understand talent is released to make room for new talent. Thats the biz My argument is honoring the length of the contract.

@GiftedMoney For sure, creative has failed some, but fans sat on their hands for a lot of these internet darlings. If the fans that were so angry about the releases were equally loud for the characters, they'd have less reason to be released.

Releases suck but it seems like we go through this cycle every year and a couple months later once their non competes are up, we’ve moved on. New Day is the exception and much props to them for realizing their worth. If people supported these wrestlers during their time with the company as much as they do when they’re fired, over half of them would still be there. Everybody did a we want Kross movement his last few months with the company. Since he’s left, where has it been? Yes, he’s killing it on the indies but is we want Kross as hot as it was a year ago? Yall raised fucking hell when they told Truth he wasn’t being renewed. Called Triple H the devil and everything but a child of god. Then Truth comes back and they do nothing with him and yall were like “why would you bring him back and not do shit with him?” Now because a couple of your favorite tag teams are gone it’s “how they let MCMG go but we got Truth as a tag champion?” What happened to “we want truth?” If you support them, great, but try supporting them in situations other than when they’re get fired. Yall clowned JC Mateo for a fuckin year bro but now he’s gone and it’s “I can’t believe they didn’t know what they had in Jeff Cobb “ Zoey Stark came out to CRICKETS when she was in a storyline with Trish Stratus. KLR hasn’t got a decent pop since NXT UK outside of her home country. Now they’re gone and you’d swear they just fired Rhea Ripley the way some of yall are going on. Yeah. A lot of this shit falls on the creative of WWE. Absolutely. But if people would stop waiting for somebody to get fired before starting a movement, you wouldn’t need these we want hashtags in the first place.

@ShawnDraven1 Obviously a lot don't watch it. If they get exciting debuts and angles I think AEW can start building some more fans. Just difficult balancing that with the need from the "sickos".

At this rate, I think a lot of WWE fans won't watch AEW because they're scared that they might end up liking it more than they like WWE.

I know in our minds it feels there were more wwe lifers when Vince was there but that ain't true TKO isn't doing much that wasn't being done in the past few decades. We just forget all the bullshit. But trust me, on the business side. Not much has changed.

@JobberNationTV I know a lot of people hate seeing talent "held hostage" but honestly that's part of the business and creative. Negotiate a contract that gives you an early termination clause if you have that power.

@JobberNationTV Tough. Probably releasing talent cuz they are deciding to not honor the contract signed even tho release is an aspect of that contract. I think both suck but both are also understandable, like in any sports league, contracts are only as good as what they guarantee.

I'm curious to know what yall think is WORST Releasing talent from their contracts before it expires OR keeping talents under contracts even if they want to be released?? Which is worse to yall??

@shadowlaura_ @JulianWks Yeah, I dont think Vince would go to the talent to restructure. This feels more sports-league realm. VKM knew who to release and who to hold on to. Feel this is good for both tho. ND needs a refresh in AEW and then their return for HoF will be a bigger deal.

Vince is rumored for not liking tag teams bec u pay four ppl instead of two. Vince wouldn't do that bec he'd just fire them

There’s no such thing as a “WWE lifer” anymore. They released Dolph Ziggler, tried to release R-Truth last year but it backfired, and now Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have left. These are the kind of wrestlers you’d expect to retire in WWE. WWE has never felt more soulless than it does right now.

@EliteClubS0B It makes sense for TKO to want to cut that salary down and also for New Day to say no. Excited to see them in an AEW environment. Good for all parties for refreshing talent.

@Ben_Tmeyer You make a lot of good points against the common gripes with the proposed new system. I think it would be a good system to try because the ranking has become a black eye on the NBA season. This will fix that. The teams legit bad at the bottom need to do better, period.

That would be a decision they'll make and if they dont allow previous games to work then that would be bad look for them. Many people would not buy that next console.
