Most game dev teams aren't ready for this. But game updates need to be 10x faster pace than what they are used to. Crimson Desert has shown they can update nearly every week with tons of improvements/refinements. This is the new normal. And, "big secret" is it only possible with AI. Asian studios have no problem using AI. Western AAA Studios are religiously against it. Their Unions are against it. This is going to be a big problem for AAA.

I’ve finished all of Crimson Deserts main story This is the anime version of Skyrim. Very cool cut scenes, engaging combat, great organic exploration, many in depth gameplay systems and customization, and a great soundtrack My only complaint is the lack of narrative focus. Things just tend to happen and there isn’t much in depth description on what’s actually going on. You can tell this was made by MMO people because sure the lore is cool but it’s barely touched upon or explained Overall I can give it a 8/10. Game of a generation. Only up from here with more updates and expansions

The last ~12 months for open world games has been so goated - Crimson Desert - Kingdom Come 2 - Death Stranding 2 - Ghost of Yotei Just hundreds of hours of amazing open worlds in the past year, really feels like a golden age for this genre again where the tech is being pushed!

Crimson Desert has shared a development update, they are working on the following HUGE features: - Difficulty options (Easy/Medium/Hard) - Improved distant scenery, so things far away appear more natural - Boss Re-runs - Reset enemy forts/camps for endgame - New skills to allow Oongka/Damiane to use Axiom Force and Force Palm, making them more playable. - Hide back weapons and shield - New outfits including making some of the currently unuseable ones useable - Specialized Storages: Wardrobe, Food, Gatherables and Collections - You can use things in food storage right away in cooking without taking them out - New pets and mounts - UI improvements including font sizes, improvements to inventory, map and more - Updates to controls such as more customization for inputs An MMO developer updating a singleplayer game at that MMO speed is basically unheard of, Crimson Desert is very quickly listening to feedback and becoming a better game every week.
