U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drones protected the rescued F-15E crew member by striking Iranian military-aged males believed to be a threat who got within three kilometers of the Airman, a person familiar with the operation told Air & Space Forces Magazine.

Good thread on how there are no cheap & easy solutions to ballistic missile defense, especially when we're talking about homeland defense against IRBMs & ICBMs. If the UK wants this capability more quickly, they should procure SM-3 IIA. Developing their own exoatmospheric interceptor is far beyond their financial means and would take many years.

The S-500 is a very new system designed to shoot down ballistic and hypersonic missiles (and allegedly satellites) and would be of very limited utility to the Iranians. It has never been used in combat, barely even deployed. People just post the most random things on here
