There’s an all-out Bitcoin pump operation flooding social media, fueled by AI bots and touts across all platforms. It’s aimed right at your wallets, friends. Yes, Bitcoin moves money peer-to-peer, but you can do that with XRP for pennies per transaction. Values assigned to Bitcoin are ridiculous because powerful people hold a shitload of it and need you to keep the buying going. Yes, built-in digital scarcity is a real selling point, but the same concept has failed miserably in the physical world. Check what happens to most “limited edition collectibles” where planned rarity was the main selling point—often created in good faith—only for them to become cheap crap later. Google the Franklin Mint’s business model or look at today’s valuations of low-mintage US government commemorative coins. Only the silver content gives them value now, not their actual scarcity. Plenty of now-worthless “limited edition” collectors’ plates sit in your grandparents’ display cabinets. This isn’t a direct comparison to Bitcoin, but it illustrates the futility of artificial scarcity. You’re purchasing a combination of ledger entries and electronic blips on your devices while adding your name to a giant suckers’ list that will live forever on the vaunted blockchain. The bitcoin Blockchain will become a monument to greed and stupidity that will live longer than all of us. The millionaire and billionaire pumpers will ultimately dump this junk, leaving the “little people” holding the bag. When that day comes, they’ll shout “Sold to YOU!” before boarding their private jets and yachts for parts unknown. This is just my opinion and not investment advice. This meme kind of sums it up, other than the word “me” which has parasitically attached itself to said meme 😄

Has the AI boom gotten ahead of itself? Is private credit a ticking time bomb? Is Bitcoin “digital gold” or just digital fraud with the blockchain merely documenting the chain of greater fools? Could demand for silver drop precipitously if industrial demand cools? Even though many mining companies will turn a nice profit, a flood of margin calls in a market correction could trigger forced asset liquidations everywhere—hopefully creating bargain-basement prices for gold, silver, and mining shares. I'm starting to buy back -- on a piecemeal basis -- the exploration and mining stocks I sold for a modest profit not long ago. Even with lower silver prices, most gold and metals price projections used by miners are still far below current levels. I know pointing out all the risks may not be helpful, but I can't help feeling like I'm walking on thin ice that's cracking under my feet whenever I make market decisions. I'm hoping this uncertainty downdraft ends soon. As a certified silver and gold bug, I've always assumed money printing would cause violent inflation, but the flip side is also possible: massive debt liquidation resulting in deflation. I guess this is more “thinking out loud” than a useful post. I welcome any reassuring observations or comments.
