Me and @AcroDWade had this warbler in Istanbul earlier - looked different from other birds and spent a while looking at it - looking at pictures in the hotel now we're thinking Eastern Bonelli's - any thoughts for/against appreciated! 🇹🇷

@StephMurphy @blodwyn50 If you have the money and can deal with the weight then the Z9 is fantastic, otherwise save some money and go for the Z8, which apart from the battery is essentially the same

Can any Nikon users out there recommend the Z9. I currently have the D500 and a 500mm pf lens. Looking for a mirrorless option. #Nikon

@CoopAlex3 As there was a 13m tide at 07:18 this morning I suspect the barrage did its job very well, potential for serious flooding this morning without it. They'd dropped the water level by over a metre prior to high tide and it filled up to this in the 2 hrs the sluices were shut

@PatchBirding I take it mapping fairly accurately around a body of water/inaccessible land that's in the middle of your patch is okay? Won't have much of a patch otherwise

@lizardschwartz Once upon a time spending some time ringing at Kenfig at this time a year would almost guarantee one, sadly rather rare now (8 yrs since last Uskmouth rec - when was last at Kenfig?)

Just one twitchable Aquatic Warbler on the south coast would be ideal 🥺🤞🙏

@sconzani @welshbirders @PennardGolfClub Had a Common Blue in the garden just now but that's a rarity! Just part of the trend in declining insect populations I guess. Drove back from Poole through some great countryside on a lovely warm evening last Sunday - barely a splat on windscreen 😟

A three-shot sequence of a Stonechat launching from a gorse sprig. So good to see the sun after a fairly grim week.

@sconebirding Having voted then counted the birds (I wasn't that close) are you sure the correct answer is in the above?

Fancy a counting quiz? Have a *quick* look at the Lapwings that were over #NunneryLakes earlier [2nd tweet] then pick how many you estimate to be in the flock. [1/2]

@RRyanspencer Sorry to question your id but are you sure they were Eider? Extremely unlikely that a sea duck would be that far up the Taff

@CardiffBirder I saw a pair of common eider ducks on the Taff between the Blackweir & A48 bridges at about 10am today. That normal for this time of year?

Enjoyable 40 minutes from 1420 hrs. at trees at David's hotel and Windsor Espl. LTT flock joined by succession of mainly Chiffchaffs, & Blackcaps with 1 WW and 1 Firecrest. Blackcaps still around ashes & bramble when leaving. Cetti calling. Tree sp.around rope sculpture?

@RobStratton8 They've actually managed to raise 2 broods in the past. I did wonder whether the gulls were a bit more aggressive earlier on in lockdown with so little human waste to feed on
