🚨ELON MUSK: “I do pay a lot of tax. I set a record for the most taxes ever paid by a human, even before I became world’s richest man. I believe I'll pay many trillions in tax & I’m fine with that. I think in a future where money is irrelevant, taxation also becomes irrelevant.”

@AndrewDesiderio It’s something that the American people overwhelmingly want and the only reason ‘he can’t get it done himself’ is because the senate is a corrupt pile of goo that thinks they’re above the voters and refuse to do it. Half the names listed have also been booted out because of it

Longtime GOP operative weighs in on latest WH-Thune drama… “Trump knows full well that he can’t flip these votes. Hell, he personally came to the Capitol to berate Senate Republicans into voting for SAVE, and he left empty handed. Look at who we’re talking about — Murkowski, McConnell, Tillis, and Collins — all members who he’s savaged at one point or another, and now he needs their help. All of this comes back to one thing: What happens when Trump can’t do something himself? He blames someone else. John Thune is Mr. Someone Else.”

Great interview: Elon Musk gets properly challenged by The Economist. “Do you support the far right?” “Are you anti-Muslim?” “People say that you’re a racist.” Musk: “Secure borders. Safe cities. Sensible spending. Which of those three are far-right or fringe?” fascinating and heated exchange. Credit to Zanny Minton Beddoes: she lets Musk make his argument & then challenges him directly. More of these are needed, especially in Ireland. Who would you like to see debate?

Hey Matt. If you listen to the Klavans on the Culture show I did with @SpencerKlavan, you'll see I partly agree wtih you. I (and just about everyone else in America apparently) found the movie very entertaining, but it misses being a great film because Nolan's take on Odysseus doesn't fit his own portrayal of Odysseus. The character he wrote wouldn't feel the things he makes him feel. In other words, it's an aesthetic failing. BUT... Nolan has no responsibility at all to make Homer's story as Homer would have. Odysseus is a difficult character to pin down even in the original, and artists have been rewriting, changing, wrong-footing and criticizing both the story and the hero since ancient times. That's how western culture actually works. It's what makes it endlessly creative and challenging. That said, yes, the woke casting was clearly another aesthetic mistake. It's not a big deal onscreen, but as both Spencer and I agree on KOC, it's easy to see why it pisses people off.
Matt Walsh@MattWalshBlog

With all due respect to Drew, he misses my point completely. I don’t believe and never claimed that The Odyssey should “fit into my ideology.” Rather it should fit into, or at least accurately represent, the ideology of the characters and time period it portrays. The worldview of a Greek warrior 3,000 years ago is certainly not one I would share on every point. And yet that is the worldview that the film should try to capture. It doesn’t. At all. I’m not sure why this point is so hard to grasp.

@AceWarIsGreat @earlyvotedata This conflict doesn’t get ‘wrapped up’, it’s existential for the Iranian regime to stay in power and would mean literal death if they don’t. Hence a smart politician (who was asked by the president) tried to find a way to end a no end conflict and not deplete our military.

@CarhillM87 @earlyvotedata The “deal” was pathetic & allowed them to hold the world hostage by keeping the strait closed, which is what they’re doing now They needed to use those 3 months to forcibly open the strait

@AceWarIsGreat @earlyvotedata The ‘3 months to forcibly open the strait’ will not take 3 months, they will continue to threaten shipping and the amount of passage will be lower for the forceable future. The price per barrel will steadily increase and be high for the forceable future because of this conflict

@AceWarIsGreat @earlyvotedata The memorandum of understanding, which is not a deal dumb dumb, was that the only way things would proceed is if they allowed shipping through the strait, they didn’t so the deal stopped and conflict resumed. So the ‘deal’ worked as it was outlined

@earlyvotedata Oh come on what kind of logic is that? Current oil prices are way too high, this is why wasting 3 months on that ceasefire was so dumb, everything they’re doing now should’ve been done back then, everyone but Vance the moron knew that the Iranians weren’t gonna open the strait

🚨 WOW! Scott Jennings RIPS CNN's Abby Phillip to her FACE to defending noncitizen voter fraud in NJ "This is a CONVENIENT deflection for you! This is the WORST possible story that could happen for Democrats right now regarding the debate over the SAVE ACT!" PHILLIP: What's your definition of widespread?! JENNINGS: What's your tolerance for this?! You're hounding him over the word 'widespread,' I just would ask you, what is YOUR tolerance for any fraud at ALL? PHILLIP: Scott, is it widespread? JENNINGS: ABSOLUTELY! Over 6,000 people! PHILLIP: What's your bar? JENNINGS: NO TOLERANCE. 0 tolerance for this. By the way, this isn't the only place this is happening! PHILLIP: What is your tolerance for American citizens whose valid voter registrations are invalidated by incorrect databases? What's your tolerance for that? JENNINGS: I don't have tolerance for ANY mistakes in the electoral system, including putting non-citizens on the rolls! PHILLIP: Why are we not keeping the same energy for that? JENNINGS: I do have energy. As you know, I've come out here and long argued that every time we don't clean up the voter rolls, that every time a non-citizen makes it onto the voter rolls, it invalidates some legal person's vote! PHILLIP: What about an American not being allowed to vote? JENNINGS: I don't have ANY tolerance for that either. But AMERICAN citizens are invalidated when illegals are "glitched" onto the system! @ScottJenningsKY 🔥🔥🔥

@ProjectLiberal First of all you should look up the definition of genocide. Second of all the Great Leap Forward maybe killed around 40 million largely by accident. The Nazis killed like 55 million very much on purpose. The Nazi propaganda starts when people say Mao is worse than Hitler.

@paulkeegstra @RonColeman It’s the reality. You can’t make a deal but say “oh by the way, your ships will still be bombed and we will continue to break the conditions, but you can’t hold us accountable” If the IRGC can’t be controlled then they can’t be expected to enter into a deal

"If the Ayatollah says 'ceasefire' some zealot can easily say 'yea don’t care, FIRE.' "They have no ability to mass meaningful combat power. They can only harass with the missiles and launchers they’ve been stockpiling for generations. And every one they exposed, almost certainly gets deleted by CENTCOM"
InfantryDort@infantrydort

I feel the need to explain this. Why Iran still has capability. I’ll answer the initial question with a question: Do you think you can crush an enemy’s ability to mass combat power even though they can still retain some isolated/dispersed capability elsewhere? The answer should be yes. In GWOT we dealt with this. There was no doubt the U.S. military had overt control of the battle space. Where we went, we won. But we still dealt with asymmetric threats. And that’s what you’re seeing now, albeit at the strategic scale. GWOT vets will remember the 107mm rocket barrages. They happened frequently. We played whack a mole trying to prevent them from launching but they were crafty. The rockets were designed to harass, and they did. Did they cause mass casualties? No. Did they get a few of us? Yes. Did the enemy control the field as a result of these attacks? Absolutely not. War is complicated yet simple. Iran has been a pain in the ass like this for a long time. You are not dealing with a rational state actor. They are religious fundamentalists who don’t care about a centralized chain of command. If the Ayatollah says “ceasefire”, some zealot can easily say “yea don’t care, FIRE.” They have no ability to mass meaningful combat power. They can only harass with the missiles and launchers they’ve been stockpiling for generations. And every one they exposed, almost certainly gets deleted by CENTCOM. This is the dance we do with these evil people. The problem is America has to be exceptional everywhere all of the time. A terrorist only needs to be successful in one place a portion of the time. Iran is doomed. Mistaking harassing ballistic missile fire for meaningful offensive capability is foolish. And for every hair harmed on an American head, the cost visited upon the whole of Iran will become too costly to bear. There is no universe where they succeed. Unless you are an enjoyer of Marxist media like The Washington Post or The Atlantic. Where they cheer for the Ayatollah like he’s David versus Goliath. Pure copium.
