@Reil76 You can diversify without snubbing our majority trading partner. The reality of the situation is that the rest of the world cannot replace our largest trading partner. Most of the United states is closer to any major city in Canada than most of Canada is.

Canada has spent 3 years cheerleading U.S. trade dependency while watching that relationship get weaponized against us. We have resources the world wants. China has 1.4 billion consumers and cash to spend. “But China is bad” is not a trade policy. It’s an excuse to keep doing nothing while our exporters bleed. We don’t have to trust Beijing to do business with them. We have to stop letting Washington decide who we’re allowed to sell to. Every year we don’t diversify is another year we beg instead of bargain.

If taxes were fair: You earn $100,000 per year and pay $30,000 in tax. Your neighbor earns $1,000,000 and pays $300,000 in tax. Your neighbor is paying 10X more than you. If taxes were fair, you should both pay $30,000, since you both receive the same government services.
