What’s happened here is that the entire system is extremely unpopular, and the smart Sensible centrists who fought so hard to prove they are the real conservatives have been left holding the bag while the right disowned the whole thing, saying: Nothing to do with us, mate.

@JackyHolyoake @kelvmackenzie This isn’t true though. You’re not comparing like with like. These are the lowest paid jobs in the UK. The Civil Service only employs Admin Assistants from that list and they are paid the same as the list not more. Cleaning, catering etc. is outsourced to the private sector.

It's one of the reasons to push for better sex education early on, so that children know how to express that abuse is taking place.

@covidbagofdicks I'm curious. Are these numbers for already unhealthy people? Like obese people. They are already at risk. Of course something like the flu could have significant impact. What about healthy, physically active people?

Because I'm dumb, I had to google and yes, sure enough, doubling something is considered a 100% increase. So even if covid doesn't make you super sick when you get it, you're living with this fuckery for the next 3 years. Maybe when I was single and childless this seemed fine.

It’s a good day to remind everyone that, although it sounds counterintuitive, using a lot of detergent doesn’t get your clothes cleaner, heat destroys clothes, and too much agitation does too. If you’re getting a lot of suds, you’ve almost certainly added too much detergent.

Then a bunch of bike lane advocates, who knew more about advocacy than about cycling, demanded special lanes for themselves. The result is intersections that are dangerous by design.

Witnessed a collision last night where this driver failed to give way or even see the cyclist on the cycle lane and turned across his path of travel, knocking him off. She was very shouty and didn’t accept any wrongdoing and refused to pass her details over. Nice turning too 🙄

To damage the roots underground impact would have had to move the trunk on impact to the point it caused them damage!

A tree on Oxford's Iffley Road will be removed after a car was driven in to it, prior to it flipping on to its roof on Sunday according to local councillor Emily Kerr The c. £80k cost for replacing the tree and its removal will be paid for out of the driver's insurance.
