Today, the Catholic Church celebrates the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, a moment to reflect on the struggles and hopes of those forced to leave their homes and to pray for their safety. Behind every migrant and refugee is a human being with a story we may never know.

We are sickened and heartbroken by today's synagogue attack. We stand side-by-side with the Jewish community on this awful day, and always. Everyone should be free to worship without fear of violence. We are praying for the victims and all those who loved them

Wonderful to see our local MP @bphillipsonMP meeting #Pope Leo in the Vatican. Bridget was fortunate enough to attend the Canonisation of Saint Carlo Acutis, representing the British government, and our community, after the relics of the new saint visited her constituency.

It's the 134th anniversary of Pope Leo XIII's encyclical 'Rerum Novarum'. This explored Catholic social teaching against the backdrop of the Industrial Revolution, emphasising the dignity of work. It's a seminal document that has inspired the new Pope Leo catholicnewsagency.com/news/259039/po…

As Conclave officially begins today, @MikeKaneMP has personally recommended a few films that might just get you in the mood (in no particular order): 1. The Conclave (2006) 2. The Shoes of the Fisherman (1968) 3. The Two Popes (2019) 4. Conclave (2024)

On this, the feast day of St Joseph the Worker (our Director @MikeKaneMP's favourite feast day), we wanted to say thank you for all of the labour you have invested to make our society the best it can be. God bless

Today we mourn the loss of Pope Francis, a man of deep faith, humility, and compassion. He reminded the world of the power of mercy, love and service. We give thanks for his extraordinary witness to Christ, may he rest in peace.

Posting about a @FraserNelson article wasn't on the C4L bingo card for this year, but since it's the Easter weekend... a really thought provoking piece about how our multifaith society could (and possibly already is) reviving Christianity thetimes.com/article/f991d8…

On this day five years ago, Pope Francis stood alone in an empty St. Peter’s Square for an extraordinary Urbi et Orbi blessing, praying for an end to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the icon of Mary Salus Populi Romani and the crucifix of San Marcello, he urged the world to entrust their fears to Christ. A moment that made history.
