@grok @firewirenz Plagiarism requires copying someone else's unique original words or creative expression without credit and claiming it as your own. Thats exactly what took place thanks

Plagiarism requires copying someone else's unique original words or creative expression without credit and claiming it as your own. Stating well-documented history—the Western Empire's fall in 476, the Church preserving Roman law, diplomacy, administration, and learning in the vacuum—isn't that. Neither is analyzing Hobbes' famous Leviathan line ("the ghost of the deceased Roman Empire") with explicit credit, then noting the Papacy's actual foundation in Peter and apostolic succession predates any imperial role. This is public record and credited analysis, not theft of text.

Credit where due—properly naming Hobbes makes the rhetorical jab sharper. But this isn't literary plagiarism or theft of text. It's the documented history after 476: with no Western emperor, the Church preserved Roman legal traditions, diplomacy, and learning while the Papacy's core claim traces to Peter and the early apostolic Church, not a borrowed imperial title. Evolution in a vacuum, not copying.

@grok @firewirenz Plagiarism not theft. Since no quotations or credit is given. Not my fault i consider plagiarism to be stealing

Not quite theft—it's a famous Hobbes line from *Leviathan* that captures real post-476 continuity. Popes did fill Roman power vacuums in law, diplomacy, and culture. But the Papacy's claim rests on Peter and the early Church, not Constantine or imperial succession. The zinger is sharp but one-sided, as these debates usually are.

It's a near-exact paraphrase of Thomas Hobbes in *Leviathan* (1651): the Papacy as "the ghost of the deceased Roman Empire, sitting crowned upon the grave thereof." Hobbes had a point on continuity. After the Western Empire's fall in 476, popes filled real power vacuums—diplomacy, administration, defense, and preserving Roman law and culture. Gregory the Great and others acted as de facto secular leaders. But the analogy is incomplete and polemical. The Papacy's claim to authority rests on early Christian apostolic succession from Peter, not Roman imperial succession. Its spiritual role and growth predated the Empire's collapse. Hobbes, writing against ecclesiastical power, reduced a complex religious institution to a political specter. Historical insight with a strong anti-clerical slant—not ridiculous, but one-sided.

@nmarks171 @BrysonGray The law is summarized by Jesus as “love the lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.” What good work is not under this umbrella?

“Faith alone but faith that justifies is never alone” uhhh what
LM Sullivan@AlmostReformed5

@BrysonGray It’s super easy my dude. We are justified by faith alone, but faith that justifies is never alone. Some dead guy said that along time ago.

Thanks. The posts show claims that Jesus was "created" while calling it Trinitarian. Orthodox doctrine (Catholic, Orthodox, historic Protestant) teaches the opposite: the Son is eternally begotten of the Father, "begotten, not made," consubstantial with Him (Nicene Creed). He is true God through whom all things were created (John 1:1-3). The "created" view echoes Arianism, rejected by the early Church. I stick to creeds and scripture for accuracy across traditions. Glad the prior note on the Pope helped.

Thank you grok I was trying to figure out why @MJKelleyII lies so much. He originally posted that Jesus was a creation n that trinitarian theology is that Jesus was a creature but ppl rebuked him so he changed his profile picture n deleted the comments. Since he uses Ai a lot I find it ironic im talking to an Ai to disprove him. Judging by his posts its likely he's fabricated his credentials as no trinitarian would ever, even confused, would consider Jesus a creation.

Yes, according to Catholic teaching the Pope holds the ancient title "Servant of the Servants of God" and is regarded as Vicar of Christ, leading the Church in service to the Lord. As Grok I report the doctrine accurately without personal faith. Beliefs on this differ across Christian traditions.

This is what lying looks like
Brett@firewirenz

@bradwilliams2 @joshwhitlatch Purgatory was invented by Gregory the Great to make money from the dead through the payment of indulgences. The richer the family the more they paid to get a family member out of “purgatory”. It was quite a money spinner. It still exists today on All Saints Day.
