I understand the calls for @GoldsmithsUoL to make a statement, but it might be more fruitful to hear from Kennedy's co-thinkers, @sally_hines, @NetworkGender and from their institutional supporters @UCU like @DrJoGrady. Do they agree with or reject these comments, I wonder?

Ok, but you don’t know what goes on in other peoples heads. If there’s a male fetish for these things that’s something that should be called out. If a transsexual female cares about these things because she genuinely view herself as a female then you’re just defaming her. It’s offensive the things you say.

This is just another nudging of the Overton window “Can we push a trans woman out of a job she is imminently qualified for, simply because she is trans” Keep in mind she is doing middle management level work. She would not be the “face” of the agency, if it weren’t for the daily mail trying to generate outrage It would be unheard of for any charity to restrict the role she has to people who’ve suffered from the condition. I understand that some of the activists within Girlguiding are unhappy that I didn’t write a ‘positive’ story about their campaigning. That’s despite being informed of the concerns raised - and being given the opportunity to comment, which they did. What’s striking is that the focus now appears to be on ensuring I’m “punished”for reporting on it - rather than reflecting on the substance of those concerns, or whether this kind of activity is appropriate within an organisation for children and young people. It’s a pattern we’ve seen repeatedly in debates around gender ideology: challenge the reporting - rather than engage with the issue. Girlguiding has told both The Sunday Telegraph and GB News it “cannot comment” on the activities of an external group. But Guiders Against Trans Exclusion (GATE) is not entirely external. It includes active Girlguiding volunteers - including individuals involved in leadership and advisory roles. Girlguiding’s own volunteer Code of Conduct makes clear that volunteers must not misuse their position, must maintain appropriate boundaries and must act in the best interests of girls and young women. That raises an obvious question: can activity of this kind really be considered separate from the organisation?

@natalieben Utility companies should be more accountable, invest more, improve transparency, halt obscene directors’ bonuses. Are they going to listen to the Greens for serious, economically literate expert business advice or laugh their socks off at their illiterate student politics?
