This is such an economically illiterate view. Notice how the chart was consistently going up until now? If the entire point was always low price affordability it would have remained flat. But it’s not. It’s about growth, just like here. This real estate debt crisis is not a fucking feature of the system

The fact it was so low already despite everything we do for this “special relationship” (pay for your defense, get trade fenced, ripped off with tariffs, give you military intelligence and logistics) while all the UK gives us in return is never ending shit talk tells me there’s not much loss here. Your leaders don’t seem to believe that. They SAY it. Yet London, Paris, Berlin - all still lagging in supporting Ukraine financially and with equipment. Getting them to meet their NATO obligations was like pulling teeth even after the invasion. Why is that? Your leaders don’t seriously believe Russia would invade NATO territory because their actions would be entirely different if they did.

This is the fucking problem. Fetterman’s bill was perfectly reasonable. I spent half my life mocking slippery slope argument people and democrats now seem hell bent on making all of that come true. When you move that to all hot prepared food you’re now just encouraging dependency on the state more. Most hot food items are not cost effective compared to non-prepared groceries. Good lord.

I’m a big fan of him but this is a big swing and miss. It’s not funny or insightful even so to compare to Carlin is insane. All throughout history there’s been carnage. Life has been brutal and despite the current conflicts we’re still much more civil than before. Much less bloodshed compared to really ever. So the idea you have to be a psycho to enjoy the time would just mean you had to be in general as the human nature. Not specific to now.
