If you are voting for the Breeders Cup board then strategically use your votes. Using your votes 20 times to vote for every position that needs to be filled means your almost a Zero vote for your choices. Using your votes strategically to elect the 6-8 people that you really want on the board will have a huge outlier benefit to those candidates. There are some stallion farms that only vote for their personal candidates each cycle and they are always the leading vote getters by a significant margin. If you really want to vote for change adjust your voting style.

I honestly can’t believe how far the horse racing product has deteriorated. It’s not just the shrinking fields anymore. It’s the endless parade of overbet winners, the complete lack of late run from anything that isn’t crushed on the toteboard, and races so predictable and lifeless that traditional handicapping angles barely matter. When was the last time pedigree played a part in a $7,500 claimer? The game has become increasingly one-dimensional, stripping away the nuance and puzzle-solving that once made it compelling. At this point, it feels like watching a loved one in a hospital bed with a terminal illness. You keep hoping for signs of recovery, but deep down you know the decline is irreversible. Sadly, I think that’s where we are now in probably 75% of racing jurisdictions.
