@MalgeoTwitch @TerraDraca Entirely different scenario? Yes. Isn’t applicable to the button question? Eh, I think yes. Why? I want to see if your morals are consistent.

Today's thoughts on the red and blue button question. People who pick blue claim reds are killing people but is that actually true? If 60% of people have already decided to pick red, does me picking blue actually change anything? No, aside from my own death, it changes nothing because nobody knows my vote and I have no ability to influence other people and change their mind. I can only control my choice and nothing else. In fact, there is only ONE scenario where my decision could be argued to matter beyond my own survival: If the vote was completely deadlocked and I was the deciding vote. The odds of that happening: Basically never. So no, I am not basing my decisions on a scenario that will never happen anyway.

@MalgeoTwitch @TerraDraca What would you do if you were on the sinking Titanic, surrounded by 500 strangers, with no family members there, but there were only enough lifeboat spots for 50 people? Would you try to save yourself, or would you sacrifice your spot for someone else?

@TerraDraca I mean you can think that as much as you want. I might hesitate and for sure i can’t know exactly what i would do but my instinct is pushing blue

Except not really because it says only people who press red live if red wins so if you take into account blue button pushers people who can't actually vote and then the child and infants the only other people who would die outside of this is the stupid "I don't vote so I win either way" and most red pushers on twitter cope with this by just saying "well if they voted blue their just stupid and deserved it" showing that the red mind set is either scared people who don't want to die, idiots that believe a theory out logics reality, or people that will kill others just because they live either way and don't think of the outcomes like blue button pushers

@Orionrenfield @MayBe_JoKing @CaptainCanady @echofoxylover @VitoComedy Are we including animals? Are we including paralyzed patients? How would they vote? Through their consciousness? But they have to physically push a button but they can’t cause they can’t move? Is the question asked in English only? Or depends on the country? How do we know this?

@CaptainCanady @echofoxylover @VitoComedy So even animals? Even coma patients? Even paralyzed patients? How do they vote if they can’t move? Through their conscious? But they have to push a button? Is the question being asked in English only or translated to a different language depending on the country the voter is in?

@echofoxylover @VitoComedy The OP said babies are included in the scenario. What part of "everyone on earth" were you confused about?

@brianorsomethin @allgau2021 @wil_da_beast630 I would be willing to kill a random person because I value my life. If I was in the titanic, I would kill everyone to ensure my family safety first and then my safety. It seems to me that in any dire situation, you would rather kill yourself, which is respectable I guess

@Cfllfo9bckdkdkd @allgau2021 @wil_da_beast630 The question isn’t “a random person dies”. Its “you kill a random person”. You will be the direct cause of their death. A lot of people aren’t willing to kill an innocent person, even to save their own life. Matter of fact, if you WOULD kill someone I think you’re a piece of shit

@allgau2021 @wil_da_beast630 Wow that’s very fascinating. I’m not trying to be rude, but I have questions: do you not value your life? Do you think an innocent person life is worth more than yours? What if you have a 1 year old son and no wife? Will you abandon your infant son?

@wil_da_beast630 Depends who I would have to kill. If I can kill Hitler or some murderous criminal, I would gladly do that. If I had to kill an innocent person, I would chose my own death.

@MGNta_ @Minekowo08 @cloud__alter Wow, that’s fascinating. Can I ask you another question? If you were on the Titanic with your 2 year old son and strangers (men, women, and children) and there were limited lifeboats, what would you do?

Everyone presses blue = Everyone survives Everyone presses red = Everyone survives Most people press blue = Everyone survives Most people press red = Red survives, but straight up all the blues get killed Red is beneficial to only you, you don't even save anyone by choosing it
MrBeast@MrBeast

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

@MGNta_ @Minekowo08 @cloud__alter Wait, I have a question: let’s say you have a 21-year-old son, and he’s the only family you have. Would you still choose blue or would you choose red?

@Minekowo08 @cloud__alter Because little Timmy picked the blue button because blue is his favorite color, so his parents also choose blue so they can save their kid no matter what they choose 100% percent of people have to vote red for it to truly win, only 50% have to vote blue for it to truly win

@RoxiesHusband @OUnderfolder @Minekowo08 @cloud__alter He’s right, can you explain yourself? Also, is the question being translated to different languages? Or is it in English only? If English only, then does that mean the rest of the world, who don’t speak nor read English, are choosing a button at random?

@EgoLayer13 @TrueHighKing69 @FondOfBeetles Damm that’s a great point. Honestly, this question is very interesting and there’s no right answer. I don’t get why we can’t hear people’s opinion without acting like one side has the moral high ground or is the ultimate correct decision.

No. The thought experiment means nothing if people who can't comprehend the choice are made vote. If infants are voting then only whatever percentage of the population is comprised of psychopaths would press the red button. Percentage-wise, it would be like saying we're going to administer the red/blue button test to the whole planet, but descriptions for the buttons exclude the languages English and Spanish. The ~ 13% of the planet who only speak those languages won't have any idea what button they're pressing. Now is it a thought experiment or is it just fucking retarded? It's exactly the same as including children so young they can't even comprehend the test.

@NewJerusalemAI @FondOfBeetles I’m a blue-button pusher, but isn’t this a fair point from the other side? I’m only saying this because I just realized MrBeast has set up games that are pretty similar to this question, and based on what we’ve seen, it’s not guaranteed that blue-button pushers always win.
