I'm getting married soon and I used to always ask married people how did you know? They would always say you just know and I would think it was crazy because nobody I've ever met or dated did I feel that certainty like I knew but when I met my wife it was so clear. Obviously there's more to it than that but for the first time I knew and there was nothing else to look for. So yeah when you know you know.

@TannerBuilds Want to try one of these so bad, I have a pretty good location that's has creek access but just it would be such a spec build I don't know what the market would pay because it's nothing like it around.

Another biz update. The team is crushing it so far in 2026. We are not even finished with Q1 and we have over $5,000,000 in jobs won with one of those being a monster coming at a $4,XXX,XXX. Our 2026 goal is $12,000,000 in contracts won. Just with what we have on the books right now we should make $2,000,000 in profit this year but I really think we have a good chance to end the year at 3-4. Not all is sunshine and rainbows though. I'm noticing that as we are growing as a company, some of my employees are anchors and not growing/improving like the rest of us. My margins next year may be compressed due to hiring better (more expensive) talent and trimming some of the existing employees. I am also looking for active partners this year to bid with. If you are a badass in the private sector and want to sell to the government, drop me a note in the comments and I will DM you to see if we could be a fit. Ideally construction related but am open to other verticals as well depending on your past performance and expertise level.

I like writing these updates. It's my diary I can look back on I’ll be honest. We missed our goal. Between the government shutdown and a quiet Q4, we fell short of the mark. Here is the deets on 2025, our 2026 pivots, and the numbers behind it all. 📊 The 2025 Recap Bids: 65 Wins: 15 Revenue: $7,000,000 Pending: 3 contracts in final negotiations. If these had closed in Dec, we would have cleared the goal. Instead, they’ll (hopefully) kickstart our 2026. The Reality Check: Q4 was stagnant due to the government shutdown. Without that friction, I’m confident the numbers would look different. But that’s the game. 🚀 2026 Strategy & Goals 1. Leveraging X for Growth I’m entering two new verticals completely unrelated to our primary business. I am partnering with experts I met right here on X. Structure: No salary. 50/50 profit share. The Goal: To see if I can truly leverage my network into operational equity. 2. The $10M Target The goal remains $10,000,000. Depending on current negotiations, we could be 50% of the way there by the end of January. 3. Fixing the "Bonus" Problem This year, we didn't give out bonuses. It feels like shit. Even though all my US staff make 6 figures, the cost of living makes it feel like it’s not enough. My #1 goal for 2026 is to pay them and the Colombian team more. 4. Quality Over Quantity (Protecting the Team) My Colombian team spent 2025 "getting kicked in the mouth" by a relentless bidding schedule. We are pivoting to compress margins on easier projects to keep the US crew busy while giving the Colombian team room to breathe. The Long View: I don’t see us exceeding $15M in revenue unless we open a physical office in the States. While that might happen if I start a family, for now, I’m happy staying lean and remote. LFG

@ChadB___ Chad, I much prefer those 9ft sheets! Oddly enough our lumberyard goes through stretches where they don’t have them a few times a year. I’ve never asked why. I don’t know if it’s a cost thing for them or supply chain issues…nevertheless the job has to keep moving forward 👊🏽

Most people in the construction industry are familiar with the term OSB but how many of you know what the letters stand for? Be honest 😂😂 Oriented Strand Board. After exterior walls are framed-up, we wrap them with OSB…which is a type of structural sheathing that provides shear strength & a nailing base for our siding. It literally ties the wall system together and prevents racking and wind damage. OSB must be covered with house wrap (i.e. Tyvek) for a moisture barrier and it must be fastened appropriately with nails to the framed walls to meet local codes. We just started hanging OSB yesterday at our Travers job. Note on one of the pics we haven’t cut the windows out yet, and on another the patio door…. Some builders prefer using a ZIP System for sheathing where the water resistant barrier is built in. Either system works well if installed correctly….let the debate begin 😂

If you met a 10/10 who was into you but did not speak your language how would you navigate the situation? Nothing makes me cringe more than seeing these gringos take girls out here in Colombia and then use a translator all night to talk to them. Then, I met this Brazilian chick. The kind of beauty wars are fought over. She only speaks Portuguese. I speak English and Spanish. What’s the move here? Look like a f@got in public? Just keep her at home? Forget she exists? Get her pregnant and figure it out later?

@LoganHaskett Looks good. 20 is kinda tight for the pantry door I'd make it a 24 pocket door. Granted I try to avoid them as well.

Permits picked up and pads done. These two lots were already cleared but of course the few trees that were left were right in the way of the houses.
